The July 9, 1985 performance in Paris, France, which is known as an absolute standard for professional shot footage of the 80's reunion DEEP PURPLE live, will be released as a definitive video using the latest digital master. ! With a high-quality screen and powerful sound that surpasses past VTR masters, it is an inevitable upgrade even for enthusiasts who already have the previous version! DEEP PURPLE, which reunited the lineup from its second period, considered to be their golden era, and achieved a dramatic reunion with the release of "PERFECT STRANGERS" in 1984, began full-scale live activities in 1985. With a large-scale North American tour and a performance in Japan, they showed off fulfilling performances befitting the "resurrection of a legend" in various locations. After the performance in Japan in May 1985, the band will take a one-month break before embarking on a European tour in June. Among them, the UK's "Knebworth Festival" where they appeared as the headliner can be said to be a highlight, and made a strong impression on European fans as well. Many live sound sources and videos remain from this '85 tour, but many of them are audience materials recorded by fans. Although the sound source is known to be of high quality, the video (due in part to equipment) is not as high quality as digital video in recent years. Therefore, it is no exaggeration to say that the only material that can be called "official grade" at the moment is the professional shot video at "Rock Palast", which recorded the Paris performance on July 9, 1985. It has been broadcast on television overseas, and the footage from that day has produced many masterpieces in the past. Among them, ``SHADOWS OF ANOTHER DAY'' (Import Title), which uses the highest quality master and includes remastered sound sources in addition to the original audio, was undoubtedly the best title derived from VTR. However, in late July 2012, the same Paris performance was rebroadcast overseas using the latest material (in memory of John Lord). This time, the digital master for broadcasting is here! The vivid screen that shows no signs of deterioration and the surprisingly powerful sound are truly official quality. It has been decided to be released as a new definitive version that surpasses even "SHADOWS OF ANOTHER DAY", which is considered the best ever among enthusiasts! In this work, for about one minute at the beginning, an intro in memory of John Lord is inserted using "Child In Time" as BGM (this is the first appearance here). The main part of the video begins while praising his achievements in the past. While the "Toccata and Fugue in D minor", which is unique to the "PERFECT STRANGERS" tour, is solemnly played at the opening, a laser beam draws the band logo. When John, Pace, Roger, and Richie played one by one, and the performance led to "Highway Star," the excitement in the venue exploded! Richie showed off his service-oriented play throughout the live performance. Fans will be entertained not only by the performance but also by the sight. In "Highway Star", he explodes with a solo while facing Gilan, and even in the late 2 minute range of "Strange Kind Of Woman", he shows a scene where he challenges Gilan with a mischievous look in his eyes, conscious of the TV recording. The flashy actions are all over the place. Like the call and response in the latter half of “Strange Kind Of Woman,” it is impressive that Richie tries to communicate not only with Gillan but also with other members. There are many connections with John and Roger, and you will be captivated by their positive performances and actions. New songs from the time mixed with past classics are also a must-see at this live show. ``Nobody's Home'', ``A Gypsy's Kiss'', ``Perfect Strangers'', ``Under The Gun'', and ``Knockin' At Your Back Door'' seem to be no less masterpieces. It makes you understand that DEEP PURPLE is not a "past legend" but a "current progress" and is reaching its peak together with each member. Gillan's singing, which seemed to be suffering a bit in the first half of the live show, gradually regained his strength, and during "Space Truckin'", with Roger's support, he gave a powerful performance typical of him. Fans will be able to enjoy a live performance filled with fun and excitement, including encores of “Woman From Tokyo,” “Black Night,” and “Smoke On The Water.” If you watch this video, you can immediately understand that the high motivation of the members on this reunion tour makes the live performances at the time of “PERFECT STRANGERS” even more special. This work, which is a package of pro-shot videos that are notable during DEEP PURPLE's career, based on the latest digital master, continues to surprise over 100 minutes! It would be no surprise if this work were made official as is. Even for enthusiasts who have seen the footage from this day many times, this work should be a must-have for their new collection. A must-have title that will knock out all PURPLE fans with its original menu and official quality! Fans should definitely not miss this work!
