Approximately 26 minutes of live footage from the TV program "Pop Deux" recorded in Paris, France on October 8, 1970. Although only two songs are included, all rock fans are sure to have their eyes glued to the screen due to their tremendous performance that captures Purple at its peak in the 1970s. Recorded using multiple cameras, the performance, screen cuts, editing, and image and sound quality are all very good, making the entire movie worth watching. It also features plenty of close-up footage of Richie, allowing you to see him playing aggressively and artistically, typical of this period, from the best angle. On Mandrake Root, you can hear Gillan's best vocals from his peak. John's percussive organ play is also very powerful. For some reason, Mandrake Root shows some gimmicks that you don't often see, such as having a member of the audience play a long tone at the 5-minute mark, or inserting a drum stick from the inside to make noise. In the second half, there are plenty of Richie's frantic solo plays, and you can see the true frenzy of play. In terms of content, you can enjoy plenty of violent performances that even surpass Granada TV. Live at "Pop Deux", French TV, Paris, France 8th October 1970 PRO-SHOT 1. Wring That Neck 2.
