The legendary broadcast known as "the only Mary Long soundboard" has been significantly upgraded! A new masterpiece has been released, reborn in a class of its own in both quality and quantity. This work was recorded at the Lyon performance on March 16, 1973. It is a stereo soundboard recording. This day is known for the soundboard of the rare song "Mary Long." While it became a staple in the Steve Morse era, it was rarely performed in the 1970s and was dropped from the set during the first half of the "WHO DO WE THINK WE ARE Tour." To understand the situation, let's first take a bird's-eye view of their activities at the time and explore this work's position. [January 13th: "Purple Portrait" Released] January 16th - March 20th: Europe #1 (36 performances) ←★COCO★ April 12th - 26th?: North America (11 performances) ["Mary Long" Dropped from Set] April 28th? June 19: North America (31 performances); June 23-29: Japan (6 performances: Phase II collapse); September: Phase III launch; November: "Purple Flame" completion; December 9-17: Europe #2 (5 performances). This newly excavated master, recorded up to Space Truckin', is DEEP PURPLE from 1973. It was a turbulent year, with "WHO DO WE THINK WE ARE" released at the beginning of the year and touring as Phase III at the end of the year. "Mary Long" was performed only halfway through the "North American" leg in April, but this Lyon performance was the 32nd performance of the "Europe #1" leg, which was much earlier than that. As mentioned above, this show is famous for its radio broadcast, and its air check master is a classic among classics. This work is a newly excavated upgrade master that updates the highest peak of such a classic soundboard. However, this upgrade is no joke. Everything has improved tremendously, and it's now "completely different." First of all, the length. Previously, the recording up to "The Mule" at the end of the show was about 50 minutes long. However, this new master is "about 69 minutes." The last number, "Space Truckin'," which had been completely omitted until now, is now making its debut. Moreover, this song is a 20-minute performance. It's not just "longer," but the musical listening experience has also been greatly improved. The miraculous "Mary Long" can be enjoyed with official quality. And even more amazing is the sound that permeates the entire piece! This is truly mind-blowing. The previous master was a so-called "vintage soundboard," and its sound quality has led to it being considered an AM broadcast. However, this time it can't be AM. It's completely FM broadcast...or rather, it's already an official-quality, superb sound. Even if you listen to it while telling yourself, "It's the same live performance," your brain rejects that fact, and the feeling of something completely different is incredible. Of course, this makes "Mary Long" shine even more. Enjoying the "Ritchie Blackmore live version of Mary Long" in official quality... Who would have thought this day would ever come? The "Mary Long Soundboard" was recorded in Lyon in 1973, long a beloved cultural heritage. This stunning new release significantly updates both its length and sound. A miraculous new discovery, realized 52 years after the show's release. This stereo soundboard recording of the "March 16, 1973 Lyon performance" is a classic broadcast sound source known as the "only Mary Long soundboard," but this newly excavated upgraded version is on a completely different level from the previous versions. The approximately 20-minute "Space Truckin'" makes its debut, and the sound throughout the entire album has been transformed into official quality. This is a miraculous release, allowing you to enjoy the live version of "Mary Long" played by Ritchie Blackmore in official quality.
