25 years ago, the bubble of DEEP PURPLE was born, the "Satriani era". Although they did not leave any studio works, it was an era that was recognized as "Mk VI (although the counting method is different from Japan)" on thehighwaystar.com. This is the precious, special-grade live album that will be the premiere. The premiere was the performance at the Nagoya Rainbow Hall on December 2, 1993. Richie left the Finland performance on November 17 of the same year, and among the names of Gary Moore and Yngwie Malmsteen, it was decided to replace him with Joe Satriani, the master of masters. His first stage was here in Japan, and the Nagoya performance was the first day of the tour. We have archived this tour with many live albums, but this is the first time we have seen a Nagoya performance. First, let's organize our collection by the dates of the only "Satriani DP" visit to Japan.・December 2: Nagoya Rainbow Hall → [this work]・December 3: Osaka Castle Hall → "THE BATTLE RAGES IN OSAKA"・December 5: Yokohama Cultural Gymnasium → "THE BATTLE RAGES IN YOKOHAMA"・December 6: Nippon Budokan → "THE TOKYO BATTLE"・December 7: Nippon Budokan → "THE TOKYO BATTLE" "BATTLE RAGES AT BUDOKAN"・December 8: Yoyogi Olympic Pool → "THE TOKYO BATTLE" "BATTLE MACHINE" A total of 6 performances. There were many live albums in the Kanto region, but the Nagoya performance of this work is the last missing link. It is one that makes the collection complete. However, the taste of this work is the sound that blows away such rarity value. Recently, our shop has been firing a series of superb Nagoya boards by various artists, and this work is one of them. This is a masterpiece that was made into a CD directly from the original master obtained through a unique route. In fact, the sound of this work is phenomenal. The enthusiasm is undoubtedly a realistic audience recording, but the essential musical tone itself is as clear as a line recording. Although it is not so straightforward that it can be mistaken for a sound board, the tone that does not make the venue reverberate shines like a customer recording. There is a slight echo only on the vocals, but this is not a reverberation but probably due to the on-site PA. It is a famous recording that is so clear that it can be clearly understood. However, there is a very slight contact sound of the microphone, the direction of the microphone changes, and the tone changes. Each one of them is extremely trivial, but the deciding factor was that the recording ended in the middle of the big last "Smoke On The Water" (it was still recorded for more than four minutes, and it was really "just a little more!" ...). However, the basic quality that runs through the entire work is press class. The sound depicts the fateful show that determined the survival of "DP without Richie" which continued for a quarter century afterwards. At the time, the obvious preconception that "it's meaningless without Richie" was overturned, and a passionate performance that made people say "this is amazing in itself" pops out. Of course, since it was only the premiere, the ensemble was solid and cautious, and the Satriani color was not as strong as the 1994 European tour. However, while holding down the taste of the famous songs, Satriani's unique virtuoso phrases flickered out. Moreover, the phrases did not have the "I'll dye it in my color!" of WHITESNAKE's Steve Vai, and the old classics were exquisitely "fresh, but not incongruous". The Italian food made by a famous French chef was also delicious... that's the kind of live performance it was. Moreover, this work also has super rare songs that are only available because it was Satriani's premiere. They are "When A Blind Man Cries" and "Pictures Of Home". The former was only said to have been performed in the 70s, but no evidence of sound was found, and the latter was thought to have premiered the next day in Osaka. You can enjoy the very early live performance of a superb masterpiece that has now become a semi-standard with the best sound. Although the previous masterpieces have been able to be heard live, which supports the reputation of the time, this work is a genuine premiere. Not only the extremely rare "When A Blind Man Cries" and "Pictures Of Home", but also a masterpiece that depicts a one-time scene in history with a wonderful sound. A historic live album that does not fit in just making the "Satriani DP MADE IN JAPAN" collection perfect.
