Formed in San Francisco in 1978, this band is led by frontman Jello Biafra, a political activist, poetry reading artist, and former San Francisco mayoral candidate. The band is characterized by its incredibly fast hardcore punk and Biafra's unique trembling vocals. The Dead Kennedys' early performance in Oregon in 1979 and their performance in Austria in 1982 are professionally recorded from the best existing master source! In terms of quality, there is some color bleeding and some drop-down, but this is a valuable video to know the essence of US hardcore, where metallic guitar noise and Biafra's high-pitched vibrato voice, trembling with anger, hit one after another on a high-speed beat.
