Gilmour's solo tour "ON AN ISLAND TOUR" was realized through many twists and turns, including the reunion of FLOYD at "LIVE 8", his induction into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, and the death of Syd Barrett. It has been decided that a special edition will be released that will be the best professional shot, and you can also enjoy the FLOYD number that was cut from the official version. The photo was taken at the "Gdańsk performance on August 26, 2006 (Poland)". This is the super best multi-camera pro shot. Of course, this show was also the official work “LIVE IN GDANSK”, and the 3-disc set version also included a professional shot DVD. However, this work is completely different from that. This is the Japanese broadcast version that was released on a special program of a certain satellite broadcasting station, “Western Music Live Legend.” These special programs often broadcast the official footage as is, but this is not the case with this work. There are also plenty of FLOYD numbers that are not included on the official DVD. It may have been a little too early to understand if you haven't experienced ``LIVE IN GDANSK''. Let's start from scratch. Let's start with a full view of Gilmore's solo tour, which was realized for the first time in 22 years. [“ON AN ISLAND” released on March 6th]・March 7th-26th: Europe #1 (11 performances)・April 4th-20th: North America (10 performances)・May 26th-31st : UK (5 performances) ← *Official REMEMBER THAT NIGHT・July 27th - August 26th: Europe #2 (7 performances) ←★Here★ This is the outline of “ON AN ISLAND TOUR”. The symbol of this tour is the official video “REMEMBER THAT NIGHT”, but it is a show in the home country of England. Gdańsk of this work was the final day of the world tour, which was about three months later. And this show was also special. The performance was performed with an orchestra to commemorate 20 years since the national executive committee of the Polish trade union Solidarity was formed. Furthermore, “Astronomy Domine” and “A Great Day For Freedom”, which were not seen in “REMEMBER THAT NIGHT”, were also played. More specifically, it was the last FLOYD-related concert for Richard Wright, who passed away in 2008. And, this show is left as the second official work of the tour “LIVE IN GDANSK”, but the main one is a two-disc set of live albums. The video version was a bonus release. Now, onto the main topic. As it was officially filmed, the quality of this work is completely official. This is a super-excellent professional shot that you can't even begin to describe. And what I'm most interested in is the set. Let's sort it out here. Part 1 (9 songs) - Madness; Speak to Me (★) / Breathe (★) / Time (Breathe Reprise) (★) - ON AN ISLAND: Castellorizon / On An Island / The Blue / This Heaven / A Pocketful Of Stones/Where We Start Part 2 (2 songs)・Fire: Shine On You Crazy Diamond (★) ・Vs. High Hopes Encore (3 songs)・Fire: Wish You Were Here (★)・The Wall: Comfortably Numb・VS; A Great Day For Freedom *Note: Songs marked with a ★ are not available on the official version of ``LIVE IN GDANSK'' DVD. ...and it looks like this. This tour consists of two parts + an encore, with the first part centered on the then-new work "ON AN ISLAND". The second part and later are the greatest hits of FLOYD numbers. Although this work is not a full recording, it includes 5 songs that were not seen on the “LIVE IN GDANSK” DVD. All of them are FLOYD numbers. Not only is the selection delicious, but each one is a must-see. Is "Shine On You Crazy Diamond" particularly interesting? A glass of red wine appears during the intro synth part. It is played with a glass harp that strokes its edges to create harmony. This alone is a great subtext for the official edition, but it also includes the program's own artist introduction and Japanese subtitles. The monologue played in "Speak to Me" has also been translated into Japanese. Of course, you can also enjoy "A Great Day for Freedom," which was special only for this day. Not only is it an official Japan Broadcast Pro shot, but there are also plenty of FLOYD numbers that could not be seen in the official work. Furthermore, it is a super-excellent video that allows you to enjoy every corner of the show with Japanese subtitles. Gdansk Shipyard, Gdansk, Poland 26th August 2006 PRO-SHOT (90:51) 1. Intro 2.
