The final chapter of the “RATTLE THAT LOCK TOUR” was “5 performances at the Royal Albert Hall (hereinafter referred to as “RAH”)”.The audience on “September 28, 2016 (3rd day)” was a special night among them.・The album is now available. The biggest point of this work is the wonderful sound above all else, but what is even more “special” is the guest. A year ago, he performed with guests such as David Crosby, Graham Nash, and his son Gabriel Gilmour at the "RAH" performance, but the actor who participated in this production was actor Benedict Cumberbatch. The most brilliant British actor of today, who was nominated for the Academy Award for Best Actor in the movie ``The Imitation Game,'' will play the role of the doctor in ``Comfortably Numb.'' I'm curious about such a special collaboration, but as I mentioned earlier, the flavor of this work is in the sound itself. The other day, we delivered the audience albums ``ROYAL ALBERT HALL 2016 1ST NIGHT'' and ``2ND NIGHT'', and ``2ND NIGHT'' in particular had a rich and wonderful sound. Although this work has a different taste from “2ND NIGHT”, it has comparable high-quality sound. Although the level is the same as ``2ND NIGHT'', the distinctive feature is the clearness. “2ND NIGHT” has a bit of a richness that is unique to “RAH,” but this work has a higher brightness of musical tones that reach clearly and straight. Considering the fantastical feeling of Gilmore Music, “2ND NIGHT” is also hard to discard, but this work has a sound that allows you to feel the subtleties of the performance itself more vividly. Unfortunately, there is a part where the taper touches the microphone and the contact sound and direction change, so I can't say it's "RAH's best recording", but it's definitely the "best of the third day". As with the previous masterpieces, the world authority on Pink Floyd research was in charge of supervising the selection and finishing of the sound sources, and this recording was carefully selected from among the sound sources reported one after another. It is a masterpiece that has been mastered by Gilmore's thorough knowledge of musicality. The “3rd day” show drawn with such a sound can be said to be the reaching point of “RATTLE THAT LOCK TOUR” after a whole year. Up until now, we have been making fine adjustments while traveling around the world, and the flow that has come together has been completed to the point of splendor. As I mentioned in the explanation of "2ND NIGHT," the first day of "RAH's final 5 performances" was a set that was heard on the previous European tour (the set introduced as "SET B + D" on the European tour). On the second day, final adjustments were made, and the final song, “The Girl In The Yellow Dress”, was changed to “Us And Them”. The “3rd day” of this work is also the same set, making it “a show only for the final chapter”. These points change daily over the 5 days, so be sure to organize them by day. ・September 23rd = “The Girl In The Yellow Dress” ・September 25th = “Us And Them” ・September 28th = “Us And Them” ← [This work]・September 29th = “Us And Them” Them'' September 30th = ``The Girl In The Yellow Dress'' And, of course, what I'm curious about is ``Comfortably Numb'' where Cumberbatch takes the microphone. There was no particular introduction, and he appeared as soon as the song started. As soon as they realized it was Cumberbatch, the audience got excited. Although it is not possible to know the true value of his singing ability since it is a part-time performance, the rising enthusiasm invites a big chorus during Gilmore's vocal part. When the two doctor parts were over, he hurried back to the side of the stage, but the applause erupted even there, and even that guitar solo seemed to be getting even hotter. This sense of realism and enthusiasm is a must-listen scene unique to this work that is different from any other recording. A collection of recordings of the “Final RAH5 Performances” that appeared as if the dam had been turned off with the end of the tour. Among them, this is one that shines with its wonderful sound and unexpected guest. There are very few guest co-stars in the entire “RATTLE THAT LOCK TOUR”, and there are only 4 performances (“ROYAL ALBERT HALL 2015”, “WROCLAW 2016”, and you can experience all of them in this work). A live album that captures that precious night with a wonderful sound that will impress even researchers.
