Bowie's Young Americans was released in 1975. Whereas his previous work, Diamond Dogs, and the accompanying tour, David Live, revealed a very unhealthy Bowie, Young Americans is a very healthy and lively album. Bowie's singing voice is finished as an impressive work. Bowie has pursued various genres with each work, but "Young American" is a complete change from his previous albums, becoming a very soulful album. The recording was done at Sigma Studios in Philadelphia. Although Philadelphia is an area with a high proportion of black people, there were some areas that were very behind when it came to soul music. However, Philadelphia International Records, which was founded here, would dominate the music scene in the early 1970s. A unique type of soul music, commonly referred to as Philadelphia Soul or Sigma Sound after the name of the studio, was born here in Philadelphia. And that's what Bowie focused on. The album, which was created as a challenge for white British people to soul that had previously belonged to black Americans, stands out among all of Bowie's albums, but it is still a great album that is definitely digestible. Although no tour was held in support of this album, the second half of the Diamond Dog tour was called the Soul Tour, and with its extremely soulful arrangements, it could practically be called a Young American Tour. Ta. This work includes the session sound source of "Young American". Considering that the next album, ``STATION TO STATION,'' had a sound that struck a middle ground between rock and soul, it was probably the recording of ``Young American'' that bridged that gap.
