A new compilation collection featuring unreleased alternate albums from 1975's Young Americans and the legendary Sigma Sound Studio sessions! The album Young Americans, released in March 1975, underwent a musical transformation. In 1974, during a break in the North American tour of Diamond Dogs, they started recording at Sigma Sound Studios, the home of Philadelphia soul, and produced the album The Gauster, which incorporated soul music in earnest, but it remained unreleased. After that, they performed with John Lennon at Electric Ladyland Studios in New York, recording the Beatles cover "Across the Universe" and the No. 1 single "Fame" in the United States, and completed the new album Young Americans with a selection of songs. In this situation, there are many unreleased songs and outtakes that were not included in the album, and some of the rare recordings from this period have been released in various forms later, but this time, "Fascination - Young Americans Alternatives and Sessions" is a new compilation collection that includes new releases and upgraded recordings. CD1 "Young Americans Alternatives" contains a total of 8 songs from the album "Young Americans" in unreleased versions and different mixes. These are alternate album versions that are different from the regular version. The latter half "Young Americans Unreleased" contains 7 outtakes of songs not included in the original album. It contains rare recordings such as an early version of "John I'm Only Dancing (Again)" and a string version of "It's Gonna Be Me" that are different from the unreleased album "The Gauster" released in the official box. CD2 includes the longest edited version of the recordings at the legendary Sigma Sound Studios, titled "Young Americans Sessions." Since a portion of this session was released at auction in 2009, it has been a familiar source on numerous compilations and distributions, but even though new master reel tapes have been discovered, the "legendary sessions" have only been available in limited quantities. This is the longest version of the first release, with multiple released reel master sources and fragmentary sources that were not initially included. It has more recordings and improved sound quality than the familiar sources that are available, and is a must-listen-to latest edited version that captures the state of the recording session, although only partially, with outstanding quality and freshness from the master direct. As an extra, related sources by vocalists other than Bowie are also included. These are all session-related recordings that you can't miss, including "I'm Divine" (Jeff McCormack vocals), which is said to be the original song of the previously talked-about "Somebody Up There Likes Me," Luther Vandross' "Funky Music," which was the basis for "Fascination," and Bowie's unreleased song "I Am a Razor" sung by Ava Cherry. The last track is "Fame," which is said to be from an actual session, despite the mysterious flute at the end. This is a 2-CD special edition of the album "Young Americans," which will celebrate its 50th anniversary in 2025, and is sure to be a hit with collectors! "Alternates" contains all the tracks from the album "Young Americans" in unreleased versions and different mixes. "Unreleased" contains outtakes of tracks not included on the original album. "Sessions" contains the longest edited version, including the first appearance of recordings at the legendary Sigma Sound Studios.
