There are many live recordings of David Bowie, both official and unofficial, but none are as important as this one. No, it's not just Bowie. I have handled countless items from many bands, but never one like this. This crucial and important pro shot is back with the highest quality ever. This work is a TV broadcast video of the Japan tour of “Berlin-era Bowie” by a certain public broadcasting station. This is a professional shot video of the "December 12, 1978 NHK Hall performance", which was a worldwide hit not only in Japan but also throughout the world of "LOW AND HEROES TOUR 1978". It has long been known as a masterpiece representing the Berlin era, and in 2002, its highest peak "TOKYO 1978" appeared, shocking all Bowie fans with its amazing quality. Although it later gained great popularity as a DVD, this work is a great definitive edition that has re-digitized the original master using the latest technology, and also repaired the slight deterioration of the master due to remastering. If you have seen the previously released “TOKYO 1978”, you probably know that the quality of this original master is at an abnormal level. Overwhelming image quality, vividness, depth, and pixel smoothness. No matter where you look, it is full of intensely clear visual beauty that makes it hard to believe that it is a video from the 1970s. That's no wonder, this original master is no ordinary air check. Although video decks had already appeared at that time, they were still far from widespread. It was a time when it was common for television broadcasts to not be watched twice, and fans from all over the country watched this broadcast as if it were a once-in-a-lifetime experience, just like the actual stage. At that time, there was a person who was recording with the most advanced professional deck at the time. The person was an enthusiastic Bowie fan, and as soon as he learned of the broadcast, he brought along an expensive videotape at the time and asked an acquaintance to go to a place with a commercial deck and ask him to record it. Of course, even if I recorded it, I wouldn't be able to watch it right away, but I still wanted to keep it. I couldn't help but try the best way I could think of. It is because of this desire that I was able to become a master. This work is the result of receiving such a miracle master from the recording person himself and digitizing it again. Unlike in 2002, this time we outsourced the re-digitization to a specialized overseas manufacturer. Recently, the Japanese version laser disc reprint series has been very popular, and this is an upgrade that takes full advantage of the manufacturer's analog reprint know-how. Not only did we bring out the quality imbued in the original master to its maximum, but this time we also repaired the deterioration of the master with the latest and meticulous digital mastering. Mainly, several noises in the audio were carefully corrected one by one. In 2016, we took every possible measure to create the best version ever. The resulting quality is truly the ultimate. Of course, it's not completely different because it's the same master, but the colors are clearly more vivid and the texture has a lot more depth than the previous version. Every wrinkle in the shirt, every string on the guitar, every strand of hair being shaken is vivid, and even when it sways during the intense action, it is depicted without blur or disorder. There is no popping noise that bothered me with previous releases. Because of the great sound, we have decided to include a CD with the audio transcription. Of course, seeing the exquisite visual beauty with your own eyes is the only way to complete it, but because it is the pinnacle, we wanted you to enjoy it at any time and any time. In fact, the audio alone is a superb live album. Particularly impressive is the second half of the song, "Ziggy Stardust," which hits six times in a row. In addition to “LOW” and “HEROES” from the Berlin era, this tour also features the masterpiece “Ziggy Stardust” as one of the mainstays. In the Japanese performance, “Five Years”, “Soul Love”, “Star”, “Hang On To Yourself”, “Ziggy Stardust” and “Suffragette City” were performed, all of which are included in this work. In particular, “Suffragette City” continues to be omitted even if the official version “STAGE” has been expanded many times, so it is special to be able to listen to the performance at that time in official quality. Although this program is not a complete version of the show, none of these six songs were left out. This shows how the broadcast staff at the time captured the feelings of Bowie fans. Bowie, who loved Japan, stayed in Japan after this show and apparently enjoyed Christmas in 1978. Bowie sings dandyly in a rainbow-colored shirt with his chest exposed, and Bowie writes about Ziggy's world in a beige coat. This is a masterpiece among masterpieces that tells the story of the NHK Hall performance that became a worldwide hit during his outstanding ``Berlin period'' in his career. In addition to watching DVDs on your TV at home, you can now enjoy live CDs in your car or while walking. The passion of the fans who recorded the master of this work, and their feelings towards Bowie, ``I want to do whatever I can,'' left this video in 2016. That's why in 2016, we ``do whatever we can'' and aimed for quality that would surpass the world's highest standards. This is a book that captures Bowie's shining voice in Japan for more than a century, and entrusts his voice to the future in its best form. This masterpiece has been brought back to life from a fan's archive 38 years ago. This time, please pass it on to future generations from your record shelf.
