David Bowie and Stevie Ray Vaughan. A soundboard album featuring two talents overlapping sounds is now available. This work was recorded on April 26, 1983. It was a rehearsal for the "SERIOUS MOONLIGHT TOUR 1983" held in Dallas. Speaking of "rehearsal albums with SRV," the definitive "DALLAS REHEARSALS 1983" was very popular. This work is similar to that masterpiece, but it is not the same. "DALLAS REHEARSALS 1983" was on April 27, while this work is a rehearsal on the previous day, April 26. Although it is a soundboard from the same studio, it is a completely different rehearsal album in terms of performance and content. If you have listened to "DALLAS REHEARSALS 1983," you may have already made up your mind, but for those who don't know, let's start with a review. Bowie, who was trying to turn from a cult hero, produced "LET'S DANCE" with SRV, who was unknown at the time. With the disco boom and the movie "Merry Christmas Mr. Lawrence", he rose to pop star status. Taking advantage of this momentum, he embarked on his first world tour in four years, "SERIOUS MOONLIGHT TOUR", and the original guitarist was SRV, the same as the album. Unfortunately, SRV gave up before the tour started, but he participated in the rehearsals. Two days of soundboards from the rehearsals have been leaked, and they have been popular for a long time. The best soundboard of "April 27th" is "DALLAS REHEARSALS 1983", and the best of "April 26th" is this work. "DALLAS REHEARSALS 1983" was truly the best. It is not just a copy of the previous release, but the best sound that the world's leading authority on Bowie research found by examining all the masters in the world, and the researcher himself even finished the mastering. Even though it was a famous sound source, it was a soundboard album that allowed you to experience a miraculous collaboration with a quality you have never heard before. And this work is its sister edition. It is the "April 26th" edition, in which the researcher who excavated and supervised "DALLAS REHEARSALS 1983" did his best in the same way. The sound is the best this time as well. It is completely different from the previous release that was distorted by childish noise reduction. A fresh and detailed vintage sound. You can enjoy the natural sound that comes from the selection of sound sources backed by deep knowledge and an accurate understanding of the meaning of the sound. The "April 26th" edition, drawn with that quality, is a valuable SRV version of BEST OF BOWIE. Tour rehearsals range from song practice to public rehearsals, but this work is a so-called dress rehearsal. All the members had already memorized the songs, and this was the final stage of the rehearsal to check the flow of the show in detail. Although there were some scenes that seemed like a rehearsal, such as a mistake in the beginning of "Scary Monsters (And Super Creeps)" and having to redo it, the arrangement was complete overall, and SRV's unique phrases flowed into Bowie's hit songs and representative songs. Moreover, at this time SRV had already completed the masterpiece "TEXAS FLOOD", and the release was just two months away. It was the moment when the talent of the historical genius shone the most. Unfortunately, the final nine songs were not recorded, but you can still listen to the precious "SRV version of the best album" on a scale of about 87 minutes. This is the sister soundboard album of the masterpiece "DALLAS REHEARSALS 1983", which is too special in Bowie's history. Although it is inferior in terms of quality and number of songs, it is a masterpiece that allows you to enjoy the sympathy between geniuses with completely different performances. The press 2CD "DALLAS REHEARSALS 1983" is the one I recommend, but I would like to keep it beside me and always enjoy it as a set.
