Since his first visit to Japan in 1973, David Bowie has performed 49 Live in Japan performances during his lifetime. Introducing a live album where you can experience that "one last time" in the ultimate way. The last performance was "March 11, 2004: Osaka Castle Hall". This work is a transcendental audience recording that vacuum-packs the whole story. The final visit to Japan was also a part of the final world tour “A REALITY Tour”. Bowie fell ill without completing the tour, and the tour was never held again. What position was Japan in on a tour where each performance was a countdown? Let's take a look back at the entire tour. 2003/August 19th: Warm-up gig [“REALITY” released on September 16th]/October 7th-November 28th: Europe #1 (31 performances) ← *Official version A REALITY TOUR/December 13th - 20th: North America #1a (4 performances) 2004, January 7th - March 1st: North America #1b/Oceania (26 performances), March 4th: Singapore performance, March 8th - 3rd March 11th: Japan (3 performances) ←★Coco★・March 14th: Hong Kong performance・March 29th-June 25th: North America #2/Europe #2 (46 performances)《June 25th: Artery Emergency transport due to a lump》This is the overall picture of “A REALITY Tour 2003-2004”. Bowie died in Germany in June 2004, but in Japan about three months before that. It was also the middle of the Asia leg, which included three countries. Composed of "2 performances at Nippon Budokan + 1 performance at Osaka Castle", this work permanently preserves the Osaka performance, which was truly the "last performance in Japan". It is a very heavy and memorial show, but the sound itself that conveys it is a true shock. In fact, it is a master that I have previously introduced as “A REALITY IN OSAKA: THE LAST CONCERT IN JAPAN”, but even if I listen to it again now, it is “just like a sound board” itself. It is also a super fine sound of FM broadcast grade that has been refined precisely. The extremely thick core, the extremely fine details, the sense of close contact with completely zero distance, the separation of each instrument, singing voice, and chorus...the official live work ``A REALITY TOUR'' remains for this tour. However, even when played side by side, they do not give up even half a step. Even when I try my best to find the songs with headphones, the only sound I get from the audience is the applause and cheers between songs. When it was released as "A REALITY IN OSAKA" five years ago, it was highly praised, saying, "Even in Bowie's entire career and all the audience recordings, there is hardly anything that can surpass this work," but even now, it still holds the title. It hasn't wavered at all. In fact, the ultimate sound didn't even leave room for upgrades. It had been remastered at the time of "A REALITY IN OSAKA," but for this release we also took on the challenge of refining it using advanced technology. However, I can't move it at all. Even if you stare at the waveform, you won't find any scratches, and the perfectly balanced beauty will be clouded by even the slightest tampering. Originally, I would have liked people to be surprised by the improved sound, but it was an "extremely beautiful sound" that could not be tolerated. Bowie's last performance in Japan is depicted with such a miraculous sound. Let's organize the memorial full set while comparing it with the official live work "A REALITY TOUR". 70's/80's Classics (16 songs) - Ziggy Stardust: Hang On To Yourself/Five Years/Suffragette City (★)/Ziggy Stardust - Low: Be My Wife/Sound And Vision (★)/A New Career In A New Town (★)・Others: The Man Who Sold The World/Quicksand (★)/All The Young Dudes/Rebel, Rebel/Fame/"Heroes"/Ashes To Ashes/Under Pressure/China Girl (★) From the 90s onwards ( 12 songs)・Heathen: Cactus/5:15 The Angels Have Gone (★)/Sunday/Heathen (The Rays)/Slip Away・Reality: New Killer Star/Reality/Looking For Water (★)/The Loneliest Guy/Bring Me The Disco King・Others: Hallo Spaceboy/I'm Afraid of Americans *Note: Songs marked with "★" cannot be heard on the official release "A REALITY TOUR". ...and it looks like this. I'm happy to have a treasure trove of masterpieces that are similar to and different from the official "A REALITY TOUR", but what's even better is the reality of being present at the final scene. I'm sure many of you have actually been to the venue, and you can clearly feel the excitement. Their silhouettes illuminated by the lights behind them, standing in T-shirts and jeans, they were talking as MCs, repeating “Thank you, thank you, thank you…” and singing “Jap girls in synthesis…” from “Ashes To Ashes”. Her singing voice puts effort into lyrics such as “cat from Japan…” in “Ziggy Stardust” and “Ziggy Stardust.” Although the sound quality is at the level of official works, the sense of reality and presence is precisely because it is an audience recording. Although it is “like a sound board”, it is a full live album full of more brilliance than that. The film ends with Bowie singing "Ziggy Stardust," his last song in Japan, and saying "goodbye." It is a miraculous recording that has become a worldwide treasure due to its extremely beautiful sound, but each song and voice engraved on it carries the weight of ``this is Japan's last''. This is a 2-disc set that allows you to be present at the scene that every Japanese person has wanted to experience, with miraculous sound. Truly a national treasure of Japanese Western music history. A superlative audience recording of the last Live in Japan "March 11, 2004: Osaka Castle Hall" performance. The extremely thick core, the extremely fine details, the sense of close contact with completely zero distance, the sense of separation that neatly separates each instrument, singing voice, and chorus... That's exactly what it sounds like, even when played side by side with the official live work "A REALITY TOUR". Superb quality that cannot be compromised. At the time of discovery, it was highly praised as ``Bowie's entire career and all audience recordings, there is hardly anything that surpasses this work,'' but even now, its throne has not been shaken at all. This is a national treasure live album in the history of Japanese Western music that allows you to fully experience Japan's last night with miraculous sounds.
