The perfect pro shot that includes unreleased scenes is back. This work is a special live performed for the MTV program "LIVE FROM THE 10 SPOT" and includes the "October 14, 1997 Port Chester performance". The show was originally supposed to feature THE ROLLING STONES, but it was canceled due to Mick Jagger's sudden illness. This performance was made possible by a sudden call to Bowie, who had a free schedule. The program itself has been broadcast in Japan, and has generated numerous titles as a representative professional shot of "EARTHLING TOUR 1997", but this work is not the broadcast itself. It includes three songs that were not broadcast live, “The Supermen,” “Panic In Detroit,” and “Voyeur Of Utter Destruction (As Beauty),” and is a full-length version of about 76 minutes, which is more than 15 minutes longer than the program itself. When you play this work, the unaired part suddenly appears. Starting from the console room scene, the camera moves to the stage and Bowie appears holding an acoustic guitar. “The Supermen” begins with a brief introduction of the members. After that, the live ended once with “Panic In Detroit” and “Voyeur Of Utter Destruction”. This is the unaired part. Apparently, this part also served as a camera rehearsal, as if we could see behind the scenes of the live broadcast, which was decided on in a hurry. Of course, this scene is also a professional shot with perfect sound, mix, and camera work, but there is no elaborate lighting, and Bowie's performance is somehow relaxed. Even if their singing voices are spectacular, they seem to be enjoying the performance with their silly facial expressions and cigarettes in their mouths, and they can also be seen watching the professional band perform with a drink in hand. After that, we moved from the program spot to the familiar program scene. Bowie appears with an acoustic guitar in his hand, as if he were appearing for the first time here, and starts playing “Quicksand” alone. From here, you can see plenty of gorgeous stages with perfect lighting effects. Bowie's movements and expressions are full of spirit, and there is plenty of Reeves Gabrels' perverted guitar. The world of “EARTHLING TOUR 1997” is unfolded in perfect quality. However, it is still not exactly the same as broadcasting. In the scene where a commercial was included during the live broadcast, the screen went black and Bowie connected with a long MC. Of course, there is no performance in between, but it is an interesting scene that reveals the behind-the-scenes details of the proceedings, which were made with the broadcast length in mind. The Port Chester performance was famous as the only perfect professional shot on “EARTHLING TOUR 1997”. This official quality big decision video has been revived as a full-length version that allows you to see behind the scenes of production and broadcasting. Not only does it represent the "EARTHLING" era, it also has quality, performance, and rarity, and is an extremely rare masterpiece video in Bowie's entire history.
