Bowie's 10th original album, ``Low,'' stands out among Bowie's albums and even among albums categorized as rock. In the first place, Bowie was in America to record ``Young Americans'' and was living a life heavily dependent on drugs. In order to escape from that situation, he changed his environment and moved to Berlin, which led to his collaboration with Brian Eno, later known as Trilogy. The location of Berlin, Germany, which was at the forefront of the Cold War, must have had a great influence on their musicality. The result is an experimental album like no other in the past, and the composition of the album, which consists mainly of instrumental songs, is unprecedented. Of course, the record company was reluctant to accept this, but it is now recognized as one of Bowie's most representative albums, and it has also been a success in terms of sales. Fans accepted Bowie like this properly. Recording took place between September and November 1976 in both France and Germany. All of the songs feature synth sounds, and many have a somewhat futuristic feel. Normally, when you listen to a song using synths or the like, you can't help but feel it's old when you listen to it again later in life, but that's not the case with ``Low'' at all, and it has a sound that is still relevant even today. Bowie went on tour in 1978 with his follow-up album, The Heroic Dreamer, and the opening song was ``Warsaw Illusions.'' When Bowie died in January 2016, an unusual comment was made by the German government, as this work was made during this time in Berlin, which was divided during the Cold War. Immediately after its release, ``Low'' has already created the atmosphere of a masterpiece, and although it has an unusual composition for rock music, where more than half of the songs are instrumental, fans enthusiastically supported it, and it is now recognized as Bowie's representative album. has been done. In particular, in 2002, a live performance was held in which the album was played exactly in the same order as the songs. This work includes the session sound source of “Low”.
