The Japanese TV special program "SPECIAL 1983" is back. This work is a 50-minute recording of the commercial broadcast special program ``Exclusive!! David Bowie Comes to Japan: From ``Sen Meri'' to ``China Girl'''', which featured Bowie as a guest during his third Japan tour. . The main theme is the movie ``Merry Christmas on the Battlefield,'' which was a big hit at the time, and the show will proceed with talks with the director, co-stars, and famous comedians in a live TV studio. Its greatest flavor is the atmosphere of 1983 Japan, which Bowie was breathing. From the opening scene, the airport scene is intense, with a video of a dandy Bowie quickly passing by, with captions reading, ``David Bowie is here! October 16th'' and ``JAL flight 422 from London arrives at Narita Airport at 17:23''. Furthermore, at the press conference in front of the gold folding screen (!), ``David Bowie Press Conference October 18th Akasaka Prince Hotel.'' A sense of the times that is hard to put into words overflows. The following "Let's Dance" is even scarier (?). A video of Japanese people dancing on a familiar disco-style set is inserted, but the set is shocking. What's more, the Japanese people dancing seemed very boring, perhaps because they were nervous amateurs. It also has a cheapness that is hard to put into words, and it strongly reeks of the 1983 TV show. Bowie then appeared in a live television studio. A variety of guests related to the movie will join in and the talk will begin. Starting with footage from a press conference from the Cannes Film Festival, the film features Bowie, famous musicians, big-name entertainers, and directors who co-starred in the film, talking about the behind-the-scenes stories and themes of the filming. During the light talk, Bowie smiles, and when he talks about his thoughts on movies, theme songs, and the culture of the East and West, you can often see Bowie with a serious look on his face. Collaborating with a Japanese celebrity means exchanging scripts from start to finish, but they are also people who have worked together in the same pot during the filming of a movie. Apart from the progress of the program, Bowie's position at the time also emerges as there is a mood in which they are warming up to old friendships. The program then moves on to ``Bowie's music'' with PVs for ``China Girl'', ``Modern Love'', and ``The Little Drummer Boy'' co-starred with Bing Crosby. As a fan of Western music, this should be the most interesting theme, but as the show progresses towards the end, it becomes more like ``the performers talking about Bowie'' rather than ``Bowie talking'', and Bowie's own comments decrease. It may have something to do with the progress of the live broadcast, but it's a bit disappointing. In any case, it is a masterpiece video that reveals Bowie's peak as both a pop star and a silver screen star, and the era in which Japan accepted it. The wind of the times was blowing behind the masterpiece live album of “SERIOUS MOONLIGHT TOUR 1983”. This is a photo where you can even smell that smell coming from the monitor. Please take this opportunity to enjoy every inch of “1983 Bowie”. Broadcast Date: 18th October 1983 1. Intro.(Arrival at Airport/Press Conference) 2. Let's Dance(Promo Clip) 3. Studio #1 4. CM 5.
