In 1974, Bowie bid farewell to the charismatic "Ziggy Stardust" and departed for a new world. A video collection that allows you to witness the transition has been decided to be released. This work includes footage shot on stage during 10 performances. There are a variety of types, from precious 8mm to professionally shot recording film, but this is a collection of footage of less than one song made by overseas enthusiasts. If you are an avid collector, you may remember the video collection ``RIPPED & REWRAPPED'' with a similar concept, and this work can be considered an expanded and expanded version of that masterpiece. While “RIPPED & REWRAPPED” was a 29-minute work made up of 6 performances, this work is a compilation of 10 performances, 46 songs, and approximately 48 minutes. There are some professional shots, but the main and most important one is the audience shot with precious 8mm film. To begin with, ``audience photography'' is a culture that developed in the 1980s when home video cameras became popular, but it also existed in the 1970s. It was filmed as a material for passionate fans and people involved, but the medium was 8mm. However, unlike later videos, it was not possible to shoot for a long time, and only fragments of footage ranging from tens of seconds to several minutes were left. In recent years, excavation of such 8mm film from the 1970s has been actively carried out, and the audience recording of the day is synchronized there. The method of creating works is also trendy. Moreover, 8mm is more beautiful than the later audience shot. Video tape is susceptible to dubbing and deterioration over time, and its pixels are rough to begin with. It depends on the state of preservation, but 8mm pieces are sometimes excavated from their original origins, so there is almost no deterioration, and the glossy colors are exactly as they were at the time. This work is a piece that covers such valuable images with the highest quality. Also, the difference from the previous work ``RIPPED & REWRAPPED'' is not just in the number of materials. Last time, no matter how many songs there were in one performance, the videos were combined into one track, but this time we divided each song into more detailed tracks. Let's organize the contents here. DIAMOND DOGS Tour (5 performances: June - September 1974) Ziggy Stardust: Moonage Daydream (4 performances) / Suffragette City (2 performances) / Rock 'n' Roll Suicide (2 performances) / Aladdin Sane: Time (3 performances) / Panic in Detroit (2 performances) / The Jean Genie / Aladdin Sane / Cracked Actor Diamond Dog: Sweet Thing (3 performances) / 1984 (2 performances) / Rebel Rebel (2 performances) / Rock 'n ' Roll With Me/Big Brother/Diamond Dogs・Others: Space Oddity/The Width Of A Circle/Changes/All The Young Dudes/John, I'm Only Dancing (Again) THE SOUL/PHILLY DOGS Tour (5 shows: 1974 (October-December) ・Ziggy Stardust: Moonage Daydream/Suffragette City ・Diamond Dogs: Rebel Rebel (3 performances) / 1984 (2 performances) ・Young Americans: Young Americans (2 performances) / Somebody Up There Likes Me/Can You Hear Me?・Others: John, I'm Only Dancing (Again) (3 performances)/Footstompin'...and so on. The final leg of the “DIAMOND DOGS Tour” is also known as “THE SOUL/PHILLY DOGS Tour” and is often distinguished. Here, Bowie began to lean towards soul music, and also performed a new song from ``YOUNG AMERICANS'', which he was currently working on. In this work, 5 performances each are selected from “DIAMOND DOGS Tour” / “THE SOUL / PHILLY DOGS Tour”, and the sense of balance can be seen from the above. Furthermore, not only the distribution but also the content differs. “THE SOUL/PHILLY DOGS Tour” includes funky arrangements of past masterpieces, and the band itself has undergone major changes with the addition of the famous actor Carlos Alomar and the addition of a larger band. Although the stage set is dark and difficult to understand because it is only 8 mm, you can clearly witness Bowie's changing image. Previously, 8mm archives were attracting attention only for their material value, but now they are being sublimated into stunning video works thanks to the finest audio synchronization. This work also includes genuine professional shot footage, but even if you watch them side by side, they are not inferior in any way. A piece that spells out "Bowie in 1974", which was a toning point with such historical treasures.
