Introducing a masterpiece video that lovingly records the stage just before the end. This work is a multi-camera audience shot of the "June 2, 2004 Uncasville performance" which is the final stage of the last world tour of his life "A REALITY TOUR 2003-2004". In order to understand how late it was, let’s start with an overview of “A REALITY TOUR”. ・October 7, 2003 - November 28, 2003: European leg #1 (31 performances) ・December 13, 2003 - January 7, 2004: North American leg #1 (22 performances) ・February 14, 2004 Sun-March 1: Oceania leg (8 performances) ・March 4, 2004 - March 14, 2004: Asia leg (5 performances) ★March 29, 2004 - June 5, 2004: North America leg #2 (39 performances) ・June 11, 2004 Sunday - June 25th: European leg #2 (7 performances) (The dates marked with ★ are when this work was recorded) In this way, “A REALITY TOUR 2003-2004” was a full-fledged tour that traveled around the world with a total of 112 performances. It is classified into six regions, and the Uncasville performance of this work is the third to last performance of “North American Leg #2”. Speaking of “A REALITY TOUR” as a whole, it is the 10th performance from the end. Three weeks later, right after the Germany show, Bowie underwent emergency surgery and never toured again. After that, I sang a few songs at festivals and occasionally attended live performances by musician friends, but I no longer used the stage as a campus to create my own worldview. In other words, it is the “10th full show from the end” in Bowie’s life. This film, which captures Bowie just before the end of the performance, is a multi-camera film that will warm your heart. This is a careful mix of two cameras created by an enthusiastic fan from overseas. What's hot about it is the editing. The result is an overflowing feeling that cannot be summed up simply by saying, "I captured the highlights." First, let's talk about the angles used. This is a shot of two cars looking down from the second floor seats in front of the stage. There is a difference between being directly in front and slightly to the right, but it's not that extreme, and the angle doesn't cast any shadows from the front row. It is a superb perspective where only the stage and Bowie's appearance fills the screen. Normally, multi-cameras combine completely different fields of view, but this work is beautiful precisely because of the similar angles. The key point is the zoom of the two cameras. Both have an excellent sense of stability, but the timing of zooming and the points of interest are different. One seems to be close to Bowie's expression, while the other is pulled back to reflect the sense of scale and fantasy of the light show. Also, while the guitar solo is close to Earl Slick, the other one follows Bowie as he approaches the audience. And what's important is the mix. We carefully examine the highlights and beauty of each camera, and carefully and carefully switch between them. It is clear that the timing is carefully thought out, down to every measure and every word of the lyrics, and the way the transitions are done, from screen splitting to fade processing and slides, is in line with the mood of the song. This thoughtfulness touches my heart. To be honest, the quality is good enough that each car can be viewed individually, so if you're just experiencing the day, there's no need to mix two cars with similar angles. However, I want to discern two cars that are close yet different, and even take advantage of the timing of just a few tenths of a second to maximize the appeal of the day...that feeling gradually warms my heart. This is audience shooting, and this is the charm of underground footage. No matter how elaborate you try, in the end it's just a video from the audience seats. It's not as easy to understand as a professional shot. Moreover, it is not easy to shoot the entire film with the camera hidden. Even so, I still want to record the show in front of me. Taking into account the photographer's feelings, the camera is assembled with great precision. This reflects not only the feelings of the photographer, but also the feeling that there must be someone who understands this video. That's why this video was created. Bowie sings powerfully, written with such love. It gives you a refreshing smile. In the last European leg, there was a show where his poor health was visible, but here he didn't show any signs of that, talking to the audience and singing. He is in such good health that it is hard to believe that he will fall ill in three weeks. This is a book that summarizes such a figure in the most shining form. To the "you who understand" that must have been in the minds of the photographers and editors. I present to you this heart-warming masterpiece. Live at Mohegan Sun Arena, Uncasville, CT.
