“HEATHEN Tour” announced the “Bowie revival” to the world. The best stereo soundboard album will be released. Perhaps because it was a world tour that was realized for the first time in five years, this era was a rich harvest of soundboards. At our store, we have reported on many albums including the tour's No. 1 masterpiece "OLYMPIA 2002", "MONTREUX 2002", "BBC LIVE 2002", "BERLIN 2002", etc. This work is a live album that compiles a sound board that masters the best, even though it is missing from such masterpieces. Although it is [superlative sound board supervised by members], it is not just “leftovers”. In fact, this work was supervised by band member at the time: Mark Plati. He is a producer/musician who has participated in everything from ``EARTHLING'' to ``REALITY'', and he is a talented person who also showed his active role as rhythm guitar, bass, keyboard, and chorus on the ``HEATHEN Tour''. This is not just a person involved, but a master who has been selected and made public by someone who has deep access to the core. This work includes three types of soundboards, but the main one is "Toronto performance on August 5, 2002", which accounts for 12 of the 17 songs in this work. Let’s check the show’s position from the overall picture of “HEATHEN Tour” here. [“HEATHEN” released on June 11th]・June 11th + 15th: Warm-up (2 performances in NY)・June 29th: TOTAL MELTDOWN (1st performance in London)・July 1st-18th: Europe #1 ( 9 performances) ・July 28th - August 16th: North America #1 (12 performances) ←★Here★ ・September 22nd - October 2nd: Europe #2 (6 performances) ・October 11th - 23rd Japan: North America #2 (7 performances) This is the summary of “HEATHEN Tour”. The sound board/pro shot group mentioned above were all from Europe, but this work is “North America #1”. This is the 6th concert. The biggest flavor of this sound board is the quality, which is really intense. Unfortunately, it is an incomplete version of about half of the show due to the broadcasting time, but the sound is perfect official grade. It's not just a straight-shooting soundboard, it's a precision mix, and if the balance of each instrument is perfect, it's a perfection that has been worked out down to the slightest echo on the vocals. The timing of the loud cheers is also perfectly calculated, and as expected from the supervision of the members, it is a super-excellent sound board that is perfectly “like a work”. The quality of the released master was such that it could be officially released as is, but this work has been further refined because of the high quality sound. The slightly muddy midrange has been sorted out, resulting in an even clearer and more transparent sound. The show drawn with that quality is also wonderful. This tour is famous for its New York and London performances with the theme of completely reproducing “LOW” and “HEATHEN”, but the regular concert-style set starts from “Europe #1”. The Toronto performance of this work was about the time when the ensemble was able to master the number of performances, and the band's engine was at full throttle. You can truly enjoy the show that shows its true potential. Following such a Toronto performance, there will be two types of studio live performances. Two songs from the famous BBC program “MICHAEL PARKINSON SHOW”, “Everone Says “Hi”” and “Life On Mars?”, and three songs from “TOP OF THE POPS 2”, “Slow Burn”, “Fame” and “I Took A Trip On”. A Gemini Spaceship. This one was also supervised by Marc Plati, and I wanted to say that it was as perfect as you'd expect, but there were very slight flaws in the master that was posted online. The basic quality is super superb, comparable to the Toronto performance, but there are skips in several places, and the sound pressure of each sound source varies. It was published as is. Sound pressure may not be a problem when listening in a loudness normalized environment, but skipping is severe. This work is strictly a live album as a "work", and is in a perfectly corrected state. In fact, the choice of sound source is what makes you feel that the quality was supervised by the members. These two types of broadcasts are “complementary editions” without any songs overlapping the main Toronto performance. Of course, the mood is different from the stage because it is a studio live performance at a broadcasting station, but the same song does not come out in multiple patterns throughout the album. Particularly delicious are “Slow Burn” and “I Took A Trip On A Gemini Spaceship” from “TOP OF THE POPS.” Both are new songs from "HEATHEN", but their stage performance was very limited, and they are rare numbers that could not be heard even on the famous albums "OLYMPIA 2002" and "MONTREUX 2002". As a result, this work contains live versions of 8 out of 12 songs of “HEATHEN”, and you can feel the “aesthetics” that can only be achieved by the members who were active with Bowie at the time. A superb stereo soundboard album that is not just beautiful, but also not just a collection. Supervised by Mark Plati, both the sound and composition have the elegance of a work of art. This is one of the closest to the official version of the “HEATHEN Tour”, which did not have an official live album.
