As always, let's check the show's position from the overall world tour picture. [1972] January 29th - September 7th: UK #1 (56 performances) September 22nd - December 2nd: North America #1 (26 performances) December 23rd - 29th: UK #2a (4 performances) [1973] January 5th - 9th: UK #2b (4 performances) {January 24th "ALADDIN SANE" completed} February 24th - March 12th: North America #2 (16 performances) ←★Here★ {April 13th "ALADDIN SANE" released} April 8th - 20th: Japan (9 performances) May 12th - July 3rd: UK #3 (59 performances) That's 182 performances. The Long Beach performance of this work is one act of "North America #2" that took place between the completion and release of "ALADDIN SANE". This is the 15th performance and a live album just before the legendary visit to Japan. Speaking of "North America #2", the Detroit performance, which is also familiar from "DETROIT 1973 1ST NIGHT: 8-TRACK STEREO MASTER (Wardour-229)", is a classic, but this Long Beach performance is also a famous recording that has long conveyed the true value of "ZIGGY STARDUST TOUR". This work is the long version. The sound is wonderful and powerful. In fact, it is an audience recording, but it doesn't sound like that at all. The strong, bold, and detailed musical tones are extremely on, and they approach you with zero distance. Despite the powerful sound, it is not a roaring or roaring sound (at all!), and the glossy sound with a lot of analog feeling is also beautiful. The classic Detroit performance was also a superb beautiful sound, but it has a wide spatial recording. On the other hand, the vividness and directness of the sound board are tremendous. Despite being such a great recording, why was it not as well known as the Detroit performance? The reason was in the recording format of the original LP. In fact, the analog "THE ALL AMERICAN BOWIE" had songs cut in order to record it on one LP, and the song order was also significantly changed. The cut parts were recorded separately on the legendary bootleg LP "MY RADIO SWEETHEART". To date, only these two records of this day have been discovered, and only the copies of them exist. This work has been meticulously digitized from the finest quality discs of these two legendary records "THE ALL AMERICAN BOWIE" and "MY RADIO SWEETHEART". It is a live album that has been finished in the order of the songs at the show on site, with perfect pitch correction and unification of sound quality. In addition, this work also includes a bonus recording of "The Jean Genie", which was not found in the main part. This is a rare "TOP OF THE POPS" appearance take from the official 40th anniversary 7-inch single. Let's organize the contents of this work here. [THE ALL AMERICAN BOWIE (9 main songs)] "Ziggy Stardust", "Changes", "Panic In Detroit", "Aladdin Sane", "My Death", "The Width Of A Circle", "Time", "Five Years", "Suffragette City" [MY RADIO SWEETHEART (3 songs + α)] "Ode To Joy", "Hang On To Yourself", "Moonage Daydream", "Watch That Man" [Bonus track from official single (1 song)] "The Jean Genie" ... and so on. You can imagine how great the main part sounds from the fact that the soundboard takes of the official single can be recorded side by side. Anyway, "ZIGGY STARDUST TOUR" can be enjoyed with direct sound that surpasses even the classic Detroit performance. That's all. The world of "North America # 2" where "Panic In Detroit", "Watch That Man", "Aladdin Sane", and "Time" which were newly added in 1973 are played, and "My Death" which could not be heard at the Japanese performance is also performed. This is the new masterpiece and the best one to date. Please enjoy the treasure of the "ZIGGY STARDUST TOUR" that shines in rock history. Live at Long Beach Arena, Long Beach, CA.
