Up until then, speaking of Asia, Bowie had only toured Japan, but a professional shot from when he toured Southeast and East Asia for the first time is now available. This work was filmed in December 1983, the final stage of “SERIOUS MOONLIGHT TOUR 1983,” the largest world tour in Bowie history. They toured around the world with a total of 96 performances, the last three of which were in Singapore, Thailand, and Hong Kong. This work is a compilation of 5 songs from those 3 performances and is about 30 minutes long, but its quality is the best of the best. It's on a different level than just a regular TV broadcast, and the image quality and editing is almost like that of a promo video or movie. By making full use of images of each country's scenery and live music, we will create a rich image of these three special countries. The first show, "December 3rd Singapore," features a passionate performance of "Heroes" interspersed with footage of traditional culture. The audio is a live performance, and it is a fine live clip. The next song, ``December 5th Thailand,'' shows Bowie standing in a foreign cityscape with ``Ricochet'' in the background, and the oriental mood is overlaid with elegant tai chi. If “Heroes” is a live clip, this is a movie-style video. This must have been a unique feature at the time when it was all the rage because of the movie ``Merry Christmas.'' And, the last day “December 8th, Hong Kong” is where the live mood is most honestly expressed. It's not 100% live footage, as scenes of them traveling by plane are inserted, but there are professional multi-camera shots of them entering the venue and singing the songs "China Girl," "Look Back In Anger," and "Imagine." will follow. This day also marks the anniversary of John Lennon's death, and the film closes with the moving song "Imagine," sung in reference to his death. If you think about it, Bowie at this time was not just a pop star, but he was also deepening his love for oriental music through the movies ``Merry Christmas'' and ``China Girl.'' On top of that, it was the first Southeast/East Asia tour that was realized at the final stage of the world tour. Although it is about 27 minutes short, it is a masterpiece video that summarizes “1983 Bowie” with the highest quality. This is a book where you can meet a different Bowie than usual. This week, the definitive edition of “SERIOUS MOONLIGHT TOUR 1983” from his homeland of England and Japan will be released. We hope you enjoy this work, which is full of exoticism.
