The early CURVED AIR, which evolved rock with two billboards, Sonya Christina and Daryl Way. A masterpiece that compiles about 85 minutes of their precious professional shots in the finest quality has been decided to be released. There are four types of professional shots included in this work. All of them are from "AIR CONDITIONING" to "PHANTASMAGORIA", and they were shining as pioneers who brought the violin to rock. Now, let's introduce each video individually. [April 1972: Belgium "POP SHOP"] First up is the "PHANTASMAGORIA" era. It is the Belgian TV program "POP SHOP" that appeared at the same time as the album was released. It is a music program of the public broadcasting station RTBF, which can be said to be the BBC and NHK of Belgium, but the quality is shocking. Although the recording is full of the aroma of 1970s Europe, the sound and visual beauty are transcendent even to the eyes of today in the heyday of digital. Although this work is a compilation produced by a core maniac and the details are not known, there is no doubt that it is not an air check but a direct copy of the broadcasting station master. It is not "it looks like that" but "it can't be otherwise" ... that is what the quality is saying. What is depicted with that quality is their fierce progressive rock that has made a historical masterpiece. Two songs each, "Marie Antionette" and "Melinda (More Or Less)" from the masterpiece "PHANTASMAGORIA" and "Propositions" and "Vivaldi" from the debut work "AIR CONDITIONING", are selected, and the performance is hotter than the album. Although each song is a studio live without an audience, the interplay is special, and the appearance of Daryl closing his eyes as if possessed by something and entering into a demonic performance is powerful. Speaking of Belgium, it is also a famous place for chamber rock led by UNIVERS ZERO, but this broadcast was also at the origin of that ... It is a great masterpiece pro shot that stirs up such delusions. [July 6, 1971: France "POP2"] Next up is "SECOND ALBUM". This is the French music program "POP2" that appeared about two months before the album was released. This is also an amazing professional shot. The image quality is a little softer than the above "POP SHOP", but this is probably due to the relationship with the broadcasting station where it was recorded. The glossy and noiseless image beauty is also definitely a broadcasting station master, and there are absolutely no dubbing marks or deterioration over time. It is still a superb video that can be released as it is on the official DVD. And what is depicted with such quality is a live performance that even makes you feel crazy. While featuring "Back Street Luv" from the upcoming "SECOND ALBUM", a total of three songs are performed along with "Propositions" and "Vivaldi" from the debut work, but more than that, it is the performance itself. All of this work is a studio live in the broadcasting station, but only this video has an audience. It adds even more awesomeness to the performance and also brings out the performance inspired by the presence of the audience. Daryl is especially amazing. Not only does he improvise intensely, but he also holds up his violin with an intoxicated expression, rolls around on the floor, makes strange noises, and plays crazy phrases while shaking his upper body as if slamming into the void. Keith Emerson was also called the "Jimi Hendrix of the keyboard," but Daryl in this video is exactly the "Jimi Hendrix of the violin." [March + September 1971: West Germany "BEAT-CLUB" (2 types)] The last is a professional shot of him appearing on the West German famous program "BEAT-CLUB." This is also the best, and the station master also includes clapperboard footage for editing between songs. Two types are recorded from this program, one of which was recorded in March 1971, four months after his debut on "AIR CONDITIONING." In addition to "Vivaldi" and "Propositions," he also performs "It Happened Today." This program is also famous for its psychedelic video processing, but this work also has a strong frame processing like a photo booth and a rainbow-colored synthesis processing. The performance is young, as it is only in the very early days, and Sonya's shouts are almost screams. It is a truly psychedelic video from start to finish. The other one is from September 1971, six months later. This was just after the release of "SECOND ALBUM", and they performed new songs at the time such as "Back Street Luv (2 takes)" and "Piece Of Mind". The interesting one is "Back Street Luv". The first take was processed for broadcast, but the second take is the unprocessed version. The scene is a blue back for video processing, and is hidden by a blue curtain so that it does not reflect the lighting. To be honest, it is a work site with no mood or anything, but this is really interesting. "BEAT-CLUB" has left behind a tremendous psychedelic video with various bands, but the scene is realistically projected with modern official-class video beauty. CURVED AIR, a pioneer who tried to perfect rock with a violin that was different from guitars and keyboards. You can see this in a completely official, super beautiful multi-camera pro shot. This is it. A first-class cultural heritage that should be officially released. High Quality Studio Live Video compilation PRO-SHOT Pop Shop, RTBF, Belgium April 1972 1. Marie Antionette 2.
