The COVERDALE/PAGE tour was only realized in Japan. So, we present a video collection that digests the masterpieces from the only tour. This work contains three concerts, a sound check, and a rehearsal. The footage of COVERDALE/PAGE is valuable, but among them, the 8mm video collection by the people involved can be enjoyed for about two hours. Let's take a closer look at each one. [Studio rehearsal] First up are two studio rehearsals with unknown dates and times. "Wanton Song / Feeling Hot" is an instrumental that ends quickly, but the best part is "In My Time Of Dying". This is a full performance including Coverdale. It's amazing that Coverdale sings a ZEP song in the studio, but you can see the two heroes facing each other and playing with the score (lyrics?) in between in a shot of the people involved... It's a luxurious sight. [December 15, 1993: Nippon Budokan] Next is the second day at Nippon Budokan. The sound check and five live songs. The live scene is also wonderful, but the most valuable part is the sound check. It was filmed by a staff member from the audience, and Paige stands on the stage, jamming and checking with a medley of "The Ocean / Wanton Song / Feeling Hot". In "Feeling Hot", you can hear her singing, but the focus is on Paige. The stage set, which was difficult to see in the live shot, is clearly visible, and the huge light tower's dazzling gimmick is clearly visible. [December 21, 1993: Osaka Castle Hall] The third one is the second day in Osaka in the second half of the tour. This is the seventh song of the live performance, and was filmed by a person involved from the side of Denny Carmassi's drum kit (this is the same as the Nippon Budokan mentioned above). Since it is a perspective like a professional shot drum angle, the two main characters are from behind, but they are very close. To be honest, it is not a good image for remembering the live performance, but on the other hand, it makes you feel like you are a part of the project. In fact, the staff at the time would have been excited just to be there with these two legendary people, and that's why they probably wanted to leave a behind-the-scenes shot of them. The scene where they're all shoulder to shoulder, zoomed in, makes you empathize with the photographer's feelings. [December 22, 1993: Aichi Prefectural Gymnasium] The last performance is the final day's Nagoya performance. The sound check for "Whole Lotta Love" and six live songs are included. In fact, the live performance on this day was arranged to include "Whole Lotta Love" in the middle of "Shake My Tree", and this may have been a practice for that. Unlike the Nippon Budokan, the sound check was filmed from the stage, and since it was the final day, it seems like they were used to it. But who is the singer singing here...?? And the live performance was shot by a fixed camera set up at the venue. Although it's a bit far away, the stage is captured from the front in full view, and unlike the Nippon Budokan and Osaka Castle, you can get a good idea of what the show is like. Also, the live shots up to this point have been a selection of scenes from the show, but this Nagoya shoot continues from the opening of the show with "Absolution Blues". It's a shame that the key song "Shake My Tree" isn't included, but you can enjoy the last night of the legendary project that the two heroes spent several years on. It's a rare shot of the people involved, but it's even more so when the main character is COVERDALE/PAGE. This is a video that gives you a glimpse into the "behind the scenes" of this intriguing, big-name joint project. The real face of COVERDALE/PAGE, which is different from the concert on site. And a collection of masterpieces that even exudes the joy of the staff.
