Now is the time to reevaluate them! We have a new title in stock, a 2-disc set of the latest high quality soundboard recording of the recently unearthed Bologna performance of Circle, an innovative quartet of artists including Chick. From the late 60s when Miles Davis turned to electric guitar to the legendary Isle of Wight Festival on August 29, 1970, Chick Corea was at the center of the biggest turning point in his career. He decided that now was the time to pursue his own music, and left Miles with his colleague Dave Holland in October of the same year. Dave was living upstairs from the apartment where Chick lived at the time, and the floor below was a warehouse. Barry Altschul and Anthony Braxton gathered here, hit it off, and Circle was formed. Although it doesn't sound so great when you listen to it now, the music that was considered "avant-garde" at the time was welcomed in Europe and Japan, but was not very popular in the United States, and Circle's band activities ended short-lived, lasting only about six months from the fall of 1970 to the spring of 1971. Therefore, few works remain and it is said to be a phantom band. A rare live performance held in March 1971 in Bologna, Italy, towards the end of the Circle's activities was recently unearthed, and the original master was further carefully mastered by the label, and a 2-disc set was released for the first time, recording the entire 1 hour 40 minutes on a superb high quality soundboard! ! After leaving Miles, Chick tried and tested his own musical possibilities. The Circle was the first step for the young Chick, with lively exchanges with the members, full of tension like a taut thread, and amazing improvisations. It still sounds very fresh even now, and is filled with the beauty of a single flower blooming between Miles' group and Return to Forever! !
