"CHICAGO XI TOUR 1977" was Terry Kath's last tour. This masterpiece stereo soundboard album is here. This work includes the "Pittsburgh performance on October 5, 1977". This show was also broadcast on the radio program "FRIDAY NIGHT LIVE", and is one of the standard soundboards that have produced many existing FM sound sources. This work is a two-disc set that is the highest peak of the show. Before the quality, let's first check the position of the show from the activity summary at that time. ・January 23-March 4: Europe # 1 (16 performances) ・June 20-July 10: North America # 1 (11 performances) ・August 13: Houston performance ・August 31-September 12: Europe # 2 (6 performances) "XI" released on September 12th ・September 24-December 1: North America # 2 (23 performances) ←★ Here ★ This is the whole picture of 1977. Among these, the "CHICAGO XI TOUR" was "Europe #2" and "North America #2", which ended there. The tour was not carried over to 1978, and the next show was not until after the production of "HOT STREETS". In the meantime, the Pittsburgh performance of this work was just after the release of "XI". It is the second concert of "North America #2". As mentioned above, this show left many FM sound boards, but this work is considered to be the best of them. Overseas sound source enthusiasts have identified the best masters and further polished them with the latest remastering. In fact, the sound is more beautiful than ever. The previous groups that have been released so far have had a lack of separation, perhaps due to the influence of the reception conditions, and many of them have a sense of clogging as if the peaks were limited. In contrast, in this work, each instrument has a clear outline, and the overlapping ensemble is three-dimensional. And above all, the sound is neat. The mountain is naturally drawn up to the peak, but it is not sharp enough to pierce the ears. In fact, the vivid mix and the sharp feel of the edges are different from the type called "official grade", but you can enjoy the close contact and separation unique to the sound board with the highest quality ever. And because it is Terry's last tour, I'm glad to have a sound board that is very close to the guitar. From a little guitar cutting to a solo, it's at the brain playback level, and it seems that you can feel his singing voice even breathing into the microphone. Of course, it's not just Terry's sound that penetrates, but each sound of the eight-person ensemble is three-dimensional, and they weave a beautiful tapestry without any complicated lines. And the rush of masterpieces drawn by that ensemble is also special. It starts with the big song "Ballet For A Girl In Buchanon", and the early representative songs are treated to a large scale. The single hit songs from the debut work to "X" are shown off in this way. However, because it is in real time in the progressive form, it is not just the greatest hits. The axis of the set was the latest work "XI" at the time, and it included not only the latest hit "Baby What A Big Surprise" but also plenty of other masterpieces. "This Time", "Mississippi Delta City Blues", "Takin' It Uptown", "Take Me Back to Chicago", and other numbers unique to that time were played one after another. "A Hit By Varese" from "V" was also a repertoire until this tour, and "You Are On My Mind" from "X" was also a masterpiece that was sealed for 30 years. Although it is the best selection in total, it is a show where you can enjoy the rich aroma of the golden 70's. After finishing this tour, Terry Kath died in an accident on January 23, 1978, at the beginning of the year. This is a stereo soundboard album that can be integrated with 100% synchronization with 1977 CHICAGO, including Terry's guitar and singing voice. The highest peak ever, polished by overseas core maniacs. Live at Pittsburgh Civic Arena, Pittsburgh, PA, USA 5th October 1977 STEREO SBD "Friday Night Live" FM Broadcast Recording Disc 1(50:00) 1.
