The band welcomed Pete Komita as bassist to replace Tom Petersen, who left in August 1980, and survived the Japan Jam 2 tour in Japan and the subsequent "ALL SHOOK UP" tour. However, perhaps the impact of Tom's departure was so great that their scheduled tour to Japan in 1981 was canceled, and they had trouble with their record company, leading to the band's release of ``ONE ON ONE'' in April 1982. (Furthermore, Pete left the group in the early stages of producing "ONE ON ONE," and new member John Blunt played bass on that album.) Due to these troubles, Pete's time with the band tends to be viewed by fans as one of the most difficult times in the band's history, and it cannot be said to be highly rated. However, the fact that the live performances at that time were fulfilling is as evidenced by the CDs “JAPAN JAM 2” and “ALL SHOOK UP LONDON”. Now is the time to reevaluate. In this project, which spotlights Pete's time with CHEAP TRICK, we will be releasing an even more outstanding piece for a limited time! This work is a perfect quality multi-camera professional shot recording of the stage performance at "Chicago Fest" held in Chicago, Illinois on August 5, 1981, during the latter half of Pete's era. This is a title that will impress all fans! Ever since this work first appeared several years ago as an imported title from overseas, it has made even the most enthusiastic enthusiasts groan, saying, ``I can't help but think that it's a digital version of the original master of a TV station.'' Both the image quality and sound quality are at a level that can be said to be ``officially released as is'', and you can enjoy the stage when Pete was enrolled in the highest quality. When you play the disc, the video begins with scenes from before the performance, including the fans arriving at the venue, the band's sound check, and the fans rushing to the front row of the stage. From this point on, the images are amazing, with master-quality freshness, natural coloring, and clear outlines, all of which are surprisingly good. As the night fell, the live performance finally started! The opening song was "Stop This Game" from the then new album "ALL SHOOK UP". Furthermore, the set list is very attractive, with famous and classic songs such as “Hello There” and “I Want You To Want Me”. The highlights that can only be seen in the video suddenly appear one after another, such as Robin's vocals singing with a passion that is hard to imagine given his sophisticated appearance, and Rick's excellent guitar playing as he runs around the stage and jumps up and down. Also pay attention to Rick's unique and conscious gestures)! At this point, Pete also seems to be showing his originality as a player, which is different from Tom. Wearing a black stage costume, he performs impressive actions just like Rick. Anyone who watches this work will understand that he and Van E. Carlos had a good rhythmic chemistry. Of course, the sound balance is also perfect. The direct feel of the drums and bass gives the audience a pleasant groove. From the new work, “Baby Loves To Rock” and “Just Got Back” are also played, and the set only at this time will be fully enjoyed. The guitar solo that continues from “Gonna Raise Hell” is a big highlight. With three guitars hanging from his neck, Rick performs a solo that surprises and delights his fans. From there, the medley of “Dream Police” and “Ain’t That A Shame, Surrender” is amazing! The excitement at the venue was amazing! From the final song “Surrender” to “Daytripper” to the grand finale, fans are sure to be overwhelmed by the band's passionate performance from beginning to end! In this work, the quality of the songs, energetic performance, and the essence of CHEAP TRICK that fans have come to expect are emitted from every part of the live performance. With its original menu and super high quality content, it's strange that it hasn't been made official. Don't miss out on the 60 minutes that fans will be very happy with! Don't miss this opportunity!
