This live album was recorded at the 1988 Jazz Festival held at Chicago's Grand Park, with hiss reduced from the excavated broadcast sound source, and with improved sound quality. The live performance begins with songs from their second album, "Ballad of the Fallen," released in 1982. Six years have passed since the release of the album, and the members who participated have changed since then, with Joe Lovano and Ernie Watts on tenor, Ken McIntyre on alto, and Geri Allen on piano instead of Carla Bley, maintaining the style of the album, but allowing you to fully enjoy the fresh sound of the new Liberation Orchestra. Tom Harrell's trumpet also produces a very good sound.
