A special TV program in which a luxurious group of rock musicians celebrated the king of rockabilly, Carl Perkins. This was a live special program held in a TV studio in London in 1985, in which the king of rockabilly, Carl Perkins, was celebrated by younger rock musicians. This footage was released overseas on official VHS and later on official DVD, but it is now out of print. What's more, this time we are offering a perfect version with Japanese subtitles, so you can get a good look at the fun session, including the content of the conversation between Perkins and the guest. This year marks the 30th anniversary of the writing of Perkins's famous rockabilly song, Blue Swede Shoes, and the huge live session with Perkins supported by a luxurious group of guest musicians, including George Harrison, Eric Clapton, Ringo Starr, Dave Edmonds, Rosanne Cash, and the rhythm section of the Stray Cats, is very worth watching. First of all, this is George Harrison's first live performance since his television appearance in 1976, so very rare scenes are captured. The scene where they play Everybody's Trying To Be My Baby, which was part of their repertoire and showed respect for the Beatles era, is exciting. Clapton also competes with Perkins in the guitar solo of Mean Woman Blues, and Perkins, who liked it, encourages him by saying, "One more time, Eric!" Ringo also sings Matchbox, which was part of the Beatles era, while playing the drums. From around the middle of the song, George takes the lead and Clapton's humble backing is fun to watch. The gorgeous cast supports Perkins and takes the lead vocals, and the performance is top-notch, so it's a must-see for Beatles fans, Clapton fans, and rockabilly fans! Dave Edmonds, who was also influenced by rockabilly, performs Your True Love, a hidden masterpiece by Perkins, with George, and the performance is also wonderful. The scene where Perkins' guitar technique is on display shows how excellent a guitarist he was and how much he influenced musicians of later generations. Finally, I will give away the spoiler, but the scene where he is moved to tears by the warm support of so many juniors, saying, "Blue Swede Shoes has performed many times before, but it has never been as fun as it was today," is sure to move you. The image quality is also outstanding. It is no exaggeration to say that this is a treasured video that every family should have. 1. INTRO. 2.
