Captain Beefheart had been playing cool, serious blues rock since the 70s, but now they've gone back to the Troutmass replica route. This album contains a soundboard recording of their Amsterdam performance on November 1, 1980, when they released their album "Doc at the Radar Statlo"!!! The first track "Hot Head" knocks you out with its strange guitar and vocals that are not recommended for the average listener! The basic sound is simple, but the songs, performances, ensembles, and strange things are all "heaped up."
