2 CDs will be released that will leave the “miracle of 2016” forever. The main character of this "miracle" is CAMEL, synonymous with lyrical rock. Since its announcement, it has been talked about as “a miraculous visit to Japan for the first time in 16 years,” and this work is an audience album that includes the “May 18, 2016 Namba Hatch performance” on the first day. First, let's check the position. ・May 18th: Osaka/Namba Hatch [This work] ・May 20th: Tokyo/EX THEATER Roppongi ・May 21st: Tokyo/EX THEATER Roppongi ・May 22nd: Tokyo/Hibiya Open-Air Concert Hall This So, this Japan tour will have a total of 4 performances. Among them, “Miracle Namba Hatch” was also the only Osaka performance. I've been calling out "miracles" from the beginning, but I know it's a bit cliché. Perhaps due to the remarkable advances in equipment in recent years, there are many new recordings that blow my mind, and each time I hear them, I rejoice and say, ``It's a miracle!'' Although there is no lie in each of these words, the ``miracle'' may seem light to some of you. But this is a real miracle. First of all, coming to Japan itself was a miracle. It may not be unusual for Andy Latimer to perform for the first time in 16 years these days, but this is after all Andy Latimer's comeback after overcoming bone marrow fibrosis, an incurable disease he had been suffering from since 1992. And the performance is also a miracle. It has already received a storm of rave reviews from various places, but I can honestly confess that I thought, ``Well, I'm really impressed that you came.'' However, the performance that flows from this work is wonderful regardless of the illness. On the contrary, it made me reflect on the fact that they had a habit of showing off their age against veteran bands. I'm satisfied with the comments that are flooding the internet, ``Isn't this the best time?'' and ``It made me cry.'' Rather, it's a concert that's so close to your heart that it even seems natural. And the third miracle is the super sound of this work that captures all the details of such a live performance. The person who recorded it was the "strongest taper in Western Japan". He is a master craftsman who always introduces us with words such as ``He knows all about the sweet spots in West Japan venues'' and ``He records with better sound than the actual venue'', and his collection also features outstanding sound. Quality. This week, DEEP PURPLE "OSAKA 2016 (Darker Than Blue 222/223)", which embodies his "ideal", will also appear, but even in front of this masterpiece, he will not give up even a quarter step. It's strange as it always happens, but even though the venue is lively, there are no noisy customers around the "strongest" guy, and it is as beautiful as if you were looking down on the whole venue from a god's eye. On top of that, the musical sound is more than “every time”, and while it is direct like a soundboard, it also has plenty of on-site and spatial sensation. Even though you can see that delicate arpeggios and crying guitar tones dominate the venue, even the delicate touches are super clear like line recordings. Please listen carefully to the silent parts of this work, such as between songs. You will notice that you can hear a very faint hiss. Of course, this work is not an analog tape recording but a digital recording using the latest equipment. In other words, this hiss is not caused by the recording tape, but is extremely slight electrical noise leaking from the on-site PA. This work is a transcendental recording that picks up even such ultra-fine sounds and delivers them through the speakers. CAMEL captured with such a sound is so beautiful that even writing it as ``breathtaking'' feels trite. Three of the four members came to Japan 16 years ago, but the one who unexpectedly fell into ambush was new keyboard player Peter Jones. All I knew was that he was ignorant and blind, but his flash of genius shocked me beyond surprise. Not only his elegant performance and delicate touch, but also his sense of tone selection creates a more moving impression than the original. While performing his main job more than perfectly, he also has a clear singing voice as a lead vocalist, and is also an outstanding performer who also manipulates wind synths. On top of that, the three-voice harmony by Andy, Peter, and Colin Bass makes your heart tighten... I've never heard CAMEL like this before. People who have experienced it say, ``It's at its peak right now,'' and a world of beauty opens up that you can't even say is ``different,'' even though you never thought it would be possible. If you love music, I'm sure you've had the experience of being moved to tears by beautiful music. It would be wonderful if it happened today or yesterday, but I'm sure many of you can't remember the last time your eyes felt hot. This work is a live album that will give you such a moment. It is also a song that warms your heart not because of the excitement of the members overcoming an incurable disease, but because of the pure beauty of the music and the beauty of the sound. I was reunited with Andy, which I had half-prepared to never happen again. There was a beautiful CAMEL sound world that had never existed before. This is a masterpiece that captures all of this with the finest sound that is said to be ``better than the actual scene.'' A beautiful world created by British rock and progressive rock over more than 40 years. I hope you too.
