The last live album of CARAMEL, which included a large number of former CARAVAN members, is here. At that time, CAMEL was joined by Richard Sinclair, who joined at the same time as Mel Collins, as well as Dave Sinclair and Jan Schellhaas. There were more "former CARAVANs" than original members, and they were ridiculed as "CAMEL + CARAVAN = CARAMEL." Although the organization made its first visit to Japan in January 1979, this work is an audience album containing the “February 15, 1979 Los Angeles performance” immediately after the legendary first visit to Japan. Immediately after this tour, Richard and Dave Sinclair left to reunite CARAVAN, and Mel Collins also left. This work is the final day of the last Roxy performance of the tour (Los Angeles) for 4 consecutive days, and it is a late show with 2 performances on the same day. In other words, it is the last performance of the “caramel era”. This work, which records such a monumental concert, has an ideal audience sound. Although there is a slight sense of space to the extent that you can tell that it is not a sound board, the thick musical sound that you can't believe is from the 1970s is delivered straight to you. The atmosphere was clear, and there was no applause nearby. It is full of beauty as if it was recorded with very recent digital equipment, and it is a sound that can be used as an official bootleg for the general market who are not familiar with underground sound sources. What flows out of this work, which combines rarity and quality, is the CARAMEL sound that shocked even the legendary first visit to Japan. CAMEL originally made a name for itself as a famous lyrical band, but not only does Andy Latimer's tasteful guitar work, but also the gentle jazz rock from CARAVAN is sprinkled on top of that, creating a world of beauty like no other. Furthermore, Mel Collins, who is reminiscent of ISLAND CRIMSON, fits the band so well that it is hard to believe that he is just about to leave. It lets you listen to the best brass play. In addition to "MIRAGE" and "THE SNOW GOOSE," the set list also features "RAIN DANCES" and "BREATHLESS," in which Richard Sinclair participated. Both in terms of performance and music, you can truly enjoy the “Caramel Era”. It feels a little strange to talk about CAMEL in terms of its Canterbury rock pedigree, but on the other hand, the official Canterbury Music website ``Calyx'' proudly lists the name ``CAMEL'' among the most important bands. It has risen to Although it was a limited period, the impact was so strong because the live performances during this period were so wonderful. A fusion of the progressive rock scene's lyricism and Canterbury sound. It is a live album that depicts the final performance with the best sound. Fascinating British progressive rock that is only known to those in the know, without being officially recorded. This is a superb piece that has absorbed plenty of music from the scene. Please enjoy to your heart's content the brilliance of a treasure hidden in the darkness of history.
