Bruce Springsteen, who had achieved great success with ``Runaway Without Tomorrow'' the previous year, rode on that momentum and toured from March in 1976. This tour was called the "Chicken Scratch" tour, which was a hectic journey back and forth between the northeastern United States, and the title of this tour is the coupling of two of the best sound sources from that tour. First of all, the first thing recorded is the sound board recording of the Cleveland performance on April 7th. Although it was a monaural recording from a mixing table, it was called the best sound source of this tour due to its extremely clear sound quality and good balance. However, even though it is such an excellent sound source, only the title "LIVE AT ALLEN THEATER" has been released so far, and there were problems such as skipping at the beginning of Split In The Night and incomplete recording of Rosalita and Quarter To Three. However, it was such a masterpiece that copies were made of it due to its good sound quality. However, the release of “LIVE AT ALLEN THEATER” was more than 20 years ago, and it was a sound source that was long awaited for a release that was not a copy or an upgrade. However, last year, Low Generation tapes finally appeared, surprising enthusiasts around the world. This time as well, the skipping and unrecorded parts mentioned earlier remain the same (I think this is the case since it was originally not an official recording), but the upgrade in sound quality is obvious. “LIVE AT ALLEN THEATER” is clear, but there is a lot of hiss noise, and there are also small sound breaks between songs, whereas this instability has been significantly reduced. The sound quality is much richer and thicker than that, and it is the first upgrade in 20 years. It is a state that can be listened to with peace of mind, which is unique to Low Generation. In addition to the splendor of the sound quality, the splendor of the performance on this day is also outstanding. The stage was held at the height of its popularity, with the success and excitement of ``Boubouso Without Tomorrow'', which was released the previous summer, firmly established. After this, Bruce's activities suddenly came to a standstill in 1976 due to a lawsuit with his manager at the time, Mike Appel, but fortunately the tour was held just before the problem came to light. It was time. The rush of the stage that opens with Night is exceptional. The performance of the Animals' cover It's My Life, which takes a breather from the oppressive mood at the beginning, is unique to 1976, and Frankie, which could be said to be a unique new song for the blues at the time, ended up being unreleased. , it is noteworthy that the live performance here is overwhelmingly better than the studio recording that appeared later. Furthermore, it was also the time when the early representative song Blinded By The Light, which had not been played live for a long time, was revived for a short time, and the fact that its valuable and hard performance was captured on the soundboard recording is probably a big attraction of this sound source. And the highlight is the spectacular performance of the early It's Hard to Be a Saint in the City. A powerful performance is developed from the intro, and please feel the awesomeness with the sound board recording. Another recorded live performance is also a very valuable first appearance sound source. Following the huge success of "Tomorrow Never Runaway", it has been confirmed that all songs from the same album will be performed on one stage for the first time on this tour, and until now, only the recording from Michigan State University on April 4th has been performed. This was the sound source that revealed that fact. However, last year, with the appearance of a recording of a live performance at Duke University in Durham, the existence of a second performance of "Runaway Without Tomorrow" in its entirety became clear. That alone was a shocking debut sound source, but to my surprise, the sound quality was very good, and while the sound quality was very rich and delicate, you could enjoy a sense of realism, and yet it was a sound image that was not drowned out. It is a wonderful recording that can be said to be the best. I think the best example of this is the scene in Born To Run. The excitement at the moment the title song of the big hit album starts is tremendous, but the performance can still be heard clearly. Although the sound quality is clear, we guarantee that it is a stunning recording that allows you to fully enjoy the realism instead of the diluted Cleveland sound board recording. However, the pitch deviation in this sound source was perfectly adjusted, and in the two songs "Raise Your Hand" and "Sandy" there was a problem where unrelated music was being played from the left channel due to the tape transcription, but here. This has been resolved by recording from the intact right channel, and the sound has been restored to a state that is easier to listen to than the original sound source. Moreover, live performances of all the songs of "Tomorrow Never Runaways" have now been realized on tours in recent years, but when it comes to performing all the songs in the 1970s, there are extremely few times and the atmosphere is completely different, so it is extremely valuable in that respect. It can be said that it is a sound source. Among them, Meeting Across The River is a rare one that is played with Max Weinberg's drums. This song itself has been performed several times since 1975, but when it comes to performing in a band format like this, this is also the second time it has appeared, including the April sound source. It's a thing. Moreover, unlike on April 4th, it was also a valuable sound source that captured the day, which was the most rare and attractive set list at this time, such as playing Blinded By The Light on this day.
