Are there any enthusiasts who remember that a long time ago, a label specializing in Springsteen released the title "SOUL CRUSADERS"? This recorded the Toronto performance on February 13, 1977. Speaking of Springsteen's 1977 tour, the famous series of performances in Boston, which was celebrated in the past and now, is probably famous. They are famous for their superb quality audience recordings by Stephen Hopkins, and our store has completed them with two titles: "LEGENDS FROM THE MUSIC HALL" and "BOSTON 1977: ARE YOU READY FOR THE FINAL MOMENT?" It has been released. In particular, the Boston performance on March 25th, the last day of the tour, was determined to be the ultimate masterpiece, but it was only the 25th that had been released since the analog LP era. The impact of the Boston performance on March 25th was so strong that Great Dane's "FORCED TO CONFESS" reigned as the CD title of March 25th (although it was a different sound source than Stephen Hopkins). However, thanks to this, the situation continued that almost no other performances were released. “SOUL CRUSADERS” was the one that made such a difference. As a title that recorded a live performance more than a month before the final day in Boston, it received high praise among enthusiasts. Not only was it the first time to convey the situation at the beginning of the 1977 tour, but even though it was an audience recording, the sound image was wonderful, and a big factor was that it was a high-quality sound source that was different from the final day in Boston. . In particular, the stable recording conditions that pick up almost no surrounding sounds are on a completely different level from Boston. Of course, starting from this time in Toronto and ending around the middle of the 1977 tour, there are a number of sound sources that could be called "official audience recordings" that were recorded by Springsteen's staff (that's why the 1977 tour It may not be officially released, but...). The familiar JEMS team discovered them from the master. Throughout last year, the team has released a series of sound sources, and our store has already released "MILWAUKEE 1977" and "DETROIT 1977". Although both titles had been released in the past, the overwhelming upper performance that lightly dismissed them received high praise from enthusiasts around the world. Rather, all of the excellent sound sources that exist on the 1977 tour, such as those and Boston All Day, have all been created with new titles from our store. Among these sound sources, this live performance at Maple Leaf Garden in Toronto could be said to be the last stronghold. Since it was released as "SOUL CRUSADERS" in the mid-1990s, there has been no sign of an upper version being released until now. However, “SOUL CRUSADERS”, which was praised for its content and sound quality, had a major drawback. This is excessive equalization and even more serious pitch distortion. After all, it was so fast that I couldn't listen to it unless I slowed it down and played it back. Also, the label Est. itself had a reputation for equalizing the sound sources on many of its titles. If that were the case, it would be no exaggeration to say that the appearance of Toronto's upper version was a must for maniacs all over the world, but the mania-produced CD-R "NO TROUBLE IN RECEIVER" (in an amazingly equalized state) copied from here (laughs). However, this time, JEMS has discovered the sound source from the master, and it is on a completely different level from the Est. version, which was equalized from the original cassette sound source! Not only the original sound image, but also the powerful monaural sound quality that was different from other audience recordings in 1977 was faithfully reproduced. This is an upper feeling that perfectly fits the phrase "dramatically improved sound quality." Of course, it is also a big point that the pitch is adjusted and recorded to an accurate state. The appeal of this sound source is not only the overwhelming improvement in sound quality, but also the fact that it proves that the 1977 tour was held at an overwhelmingly high voltage from the beginning. Still, even though this was the first (and last) tour in 1977 after the 1976 tour ended during the New York Palladium dates, which will be released at the same time, it's hard to miss that the sound has undergone a sudden change. . There is a noticeable difference in that the opening "Night" and "Tenth Avenue Freeze-Out" where the horn corps joins are played at a slower tempo than at Palladium. And yet, the performance as if Springsteen was running around freely was truly amazing! Just like at Palladium, the new song “Something In The Night” is being played at this time, but the arrangement suddenly changes again. It has suddenly been reborn into a darkness-like arrangement. Moreover, Springsteen's voice singing it is super wild. Even in the later Darkness Tour, please enjoy the excellent performance that makes you think that there is no such intense version with the highest sound quality unique to the upper version. The middle part of the live begins with “Action In The Streets” (an unreleased song only for this tour), followed by “Backstreets”, which is a highlight of every night in 1977 and is very popular among maniacs. Even as of the Palladium 29th, which will be released this time, Springsteen was already singing wild and free songs (please listen and compare this point), but in 1977, the performance escalated at once. Among maniacs, Springsteen's improvisational speech in the middle of this song is famous as "Sad Eyes," but the way Springsteen barks here in Toronto is a spectacular word. The excitement was on par with that series of performances in Boston. As I have written so far, this is an upper version of the sound source known among enthusiasts as "SOUL CRUSADERS" day, so this time too we will release the literal ultimate version with the same title and "DEFINITIVE". .
