In April 2016, all the legendary artists who had been active since the 1960s came to Japan, but among them, Brian Wilson was highly rated by enthusiasts. The concept is a reenactment live performance to commemorate the 50th anniversary of "PET SOUNDS", one of the bible albums of the 1960s for Japanese rock fans. There is no doubt that this alone is an attractive live set for many fans, but it is also a rock-solid performance from a band that believes in always giving high-quality performances on stage. The combination of these factors made this performance in Japan very popular. However, the concept of recreating "PET SOUNDS" itself is not unusual, and has been carried out more than ten years ago, and even performed in Japan. However, the reason why this visit to Japan attracted so much attention and was so well-received was largely due to the structure of the first half of the live show and the presence of Al Jardine and Blondie Chaplin, who have been part of Brian's tours in recent years. Isn't it? As for Al, he was an ally with Brian in the Beach Boys, and although they eventually split up again after getting together in 2012, his participation gave Brian's stage a more distinct Beach Boys feel. What you have brought to us is tremendous. As expected, the support band members and Al are on a different level. Even more exciting for enthusiasts will be Blondie's participation. For long-time rock fans, even more than his participation as a Stones support member in recent years, it is unforgettable that he joined the Beach Boys as a regular member in the early 1970s, along with drummer Ricky Futter. Isn't it too great that the stage that reflected the fullness of the current Brian Wilson Band, which even Blondie, who is related to that, was seen in Japan? This performance in Japan was first held at two Tokyo International Forums, and this title combines both stages. The different song selections over the two days was one of the reasons why it was well received among fans, and the first half of the set featured numbers that could be described as tears of mania. In addition to the familiar classics, Al's participation included maniacal numbers such as ``Wake The World'' from ``FRIENDS'', and Blondie's participation included Carl Wilson's title tune on the album's title tune. Instead, he takes the lead vocal, and the scene where it is played as if reproducing the live arrangement of the early 70's is a scene that can be said to be a scene that can be said to be tears of mania. And the fact that the two songs in the first half of the live performance are occupied by numbers from the album “HOLLAND” with Blondie participation also further enhances the level of fulfillment of Brian’s stage. Furthermore, on the first day of the Tokyo Forum, Al performed his best song "Then I Kissed Her" in the first half of the set. Among the members of the Beach Boys, I'm sure many people were moved to tears by his unfading singing voice. On the second day, Al picked up ``Honkin' Down the Highway'' instead, but it was a song from the ``LOVE YOU'' album, which is very popular among Japanese enthusiasts, and it was also a tear-jerking song selection. There is no doubt about that. Furthermore, on the second day, Brian sang "Little Honda", one of the early classics. Of course, it seems that the repertoire was made with the country of Honda in mind, but I'm sure there were many enthusiasts who were delighted with this. On the other hand, the “PET SOUNDS” set also has a different charm from the “PET SOUNDS” tour that took place in 2002 in that the degree of reproduction has been greatly expanded by Al’s participation. After all, it is a set that reproduces the Beach Boys' album, and his presence is tremendous here as well. The persuasiveness of the arrangement in which he and Brian sing while switching vocals is amazing! Brian was more excited on the first day of the two days in Tokyo, and this can be seen from the conversation he had with Al during the first half of the set. Above all, the great point is that it includes footage from the first day in Tokyo, where no items have been released so far. On the other hand, I feel that the "PET SOUNDS" set was better on the second day of the forum. This title is dedicated to all music fans who consider "PET SOUNDS" their bible.
