Brian Setzer came to Japan in 2006 with the specially arranged "THE NASHVILLAINS". This is the best soundboard album leaked by the people involved that recorded the performance. This work contains the performance of "October 30, 2006: Tokyo Welfare Pension Hall". Setzer has visited Japan many times with STRAY CATS and BSO, but this time it was a special tour titled "NASHVILLAINS JAPAN TOUR 2006". First, let's check the schedule of his visit to Japan. October 22: Inazuma Festival October 23: Zepp Osaka October 25: Zepp Fukuoka October 26: Nagoya Welfare Pension Hall October 27: Tokyo Welfare Pension Hall October 28: Tokyo Welfare Pension Hall October 30: Tokyo Welfare Pension Hall [This work] A total of 7 performances. The final performance was at the Tokyo Welfare Pension Hall, and this work was the final performance. This work, which contains such a concert, is a superb stereo sound board. It is a master of the leaked work brought from our own route. The quality is literally "official class". In fact, the official live album "RED HOT & LIVE!" has also been released from this tour, but it was probably recorded for its production. Of course, no matter how official it is, the contents are different from the official version. The take is different from the official version produced from the entire Japan tour, and it is a live album of one performance recorded completely, including four songs that cannot be heard on the official version, "Ignition", "Drugs & Alcohol", "We Are The Marauders", and "Rumble In Brighton". Furthermore, the sound is different. Naturally, the official version is treated with elaborate mixing, mastering, etc., but this work is a complete recording. Noise occurs in "Fishnet Stockings", but even that is vivid. It's a direct sound board with no overdubs of loud cheers. Such a sound also suits this show fiercely. THE NASHVILLAINS is a trio that was the core of his latest solo work (at the time) "13", and it is a quartet with Setzer added to it. It is a solid ensemble that is different from the large BSO. Each person and each instrument is a thick sound board like a rough rope, but it is entangled and draws a thick rockabilly like a shimenawa. The loud cheers are far away, and because it is a direct sound with zero echo, a vivid three-dimensional feeling is poured into the brain even to the gaps between each other's instruments. If such an ensemble is special, the show is also too special. As mentioned above, it is an expanded version of "RED HOT & LIVE!", but the concept of the show is very clear. Standards covered in the Sun Records tribute album "ROCKABILLY RIOT!" + solo work "13" + STRAY CATS repertoire. It is also neatly composed of six songs each. The only exceptions are "This Cat's On A Hot Tin Roof" from "THE DIRTY BOOGIE" and "Ignition" from '68 COMEBACK SPECIAL. In addition to standards and new songs, it is a show that is completely different from BSO, such as "Runaway Boys" and "Gene & Eddie", which are rare even for STRAY CATS. BRIAN SETZER & THE NASHVILLAINS, who have been described as "a variant that makes STRAY CATS louder, tighter, and richer". This is an album for those involved that will screw the whole story into your brain with a bare, superb stereo soundboard. Not only is it an expanded and complete version of "RED HOT & LIVE!", but it is also an overwhelming piece with the powerful rawness that can only be achieved by connecting directly to the table.
