Starting with the JATP of the 40s and 50s, real jazz in the early 70s blazed! The CTI All-Stars, a dream match of superstars. The dream returns! A must-listen album that perfectly captures the legendary dream match held in the early 80s, when Japan was at its most energetic, with the highest quality sound. Just before the bubble period, when Japan was experiencing an economic boom that is unimaginable now, the "Olex Jazz Festival" held from 1980 to 1983 was also a dream match with a historic super luxurious lineup, attracting the attention of fans all over the world. The first "Olex Jazz Festival" was held at the Budokan in Tokyo on September 2, 1980, and featured a superstar performance by Michael & Randy Brecker, Joe Henderson, Freddie Hubbard, Joe Farrell, George Duke, Robben Ford, Alphonso Johnson, and Peter Erskine, all of whom were the leading stars of their time. This amazing live performance was recorded on a high-quality stereo soundboard with careful mastering by the label. In addition, a bonus track from the stage held at Yokohama Stadium on September 7 has been added. Incidentally, the 1980 festival was commercialized and the performance of this group was also released, but the selection of songs was from three locations, and only two songs were recorded from the Budokan, so the other five songs (plus one bonus track) are rare and unreleased. The lineup is unimaginable today, with Michael Brecker, who was in high demand with all kinds of musicians and had no time to sleep, Randy Brecker, who was at the height of his popularity with the Brecker Brothers, Joe Farrell and the great Joe Henderson, who were involved with Chick Corea, Freddie Hubbard, who was a big hit with V.S.O.P., George Duke, who was popular in a duo band with Stanley Clarke, Peter Erskine, who was the strongest rhythm section with Jaco Pastorius in Weather Report at the time, and the rhythm section of Alphonso Johnson, Jaco's predecessor in Weather, Larry Carlton, who led the fusion boom, and Robben Ford, a popular guitarist who was a promising new star following Lee Ritenour and was later selected for Miles Davis' band! The members are replaced depending on the song. Since it has been recorded, don't miss this wonderful performance where you can see them playing with all their might and having fun! !
