Randy Brecker, Randy's wife Ada Lovatti, Barry Finnerty, Neil Jason, and Terry Bozzio... aren't you excited? This lineup! Yes, it's a shame that Michael isn't there, but this long-awaited 2-disc title is a complete recording of the July 2014 Berlin, Germany performance with the exact same lineup as the Brecker Brothers' masterpiece, "Heavy Metal Bebop"! As soon as it was announced that this "Heavy Metal Bebop Tour" would be held, there was a huge reaction among fans, and they were filled with anxiety and expectation, wondering if they would actually perform... but don't worry. It has started just fine! The album opens with "Sponge," and features Bozzio's flashy drums surrounded by a massive drum set, followed by Finnerty's powerful guitar on "First Tune," the funky "Straphangin'," the classic "Sam Skunk Funk," which is synonymous with the "Heavy Metal Bebop Breckers" rather than the Breckers themselves, the upbeat "East River" with Jason's bass, and the encore "Inside Out" with its heavy shuffle beat and sharp horn ensemble. All in all, the album lives up to expectations!
