This is a soundboard live recording of a quartet led by Branford Marsalis, the eldest of the Marsalis brothers, a thoroughbred in the jazz world. He gained attention as a quintet member with his younger brother Wynton, and later joined Miles Davis' backing band. This is a live show in 1989 that concludes the 1980s, when his talent bloomed and ran through, supporting rock and pop musicians such as Sting and Phil Collins, and playing in the background. This 288-minute recording was recorded from December 12th to 17th at Village Vanguard, the premier jazz club where he performed with his quartet. You can enjoy the passionate performance of the quartet, which was attracting attention as young jazz artists at the time, with official level sound quality. Jeff Thayne Watts' overwhelming drums and Robert Hurst's crackling double bass. Playing the piano is Kenny Kirkland, a genius who died at a young age and also participated in Sting's backing along with Branford. Since the sound quality is originally high, we didn't do much to improve the sound quality itself, and mainly did the rough editing between songs, etc. when mastering. Only the last track on disc 4 had different equalization adjustments because the sound quality was different.
