Branford, who is the older brother of Wynton Marsalis and was a member of his quintet and whose exhilarating tenor was an attraction, performed with his own quartet for six consecutive days at New York's Village Vanguard. This was officially recorded but unreleased. A spectacular live encyclopedia has been released that includes 4 hours and 48 minutes of sound board sound sources recorded on 4 discs. Branford Marsalis graduated from Berklee College of Music in Boston and became a hot topic among jazz fans in 1981 when he joined Art Blakey & the Jazz Messengers and his brother Wynton's group. He also participated in Miles' album ``Decoy'', but his name suddenly became famous in 1985 when he participated in Sting's masterpiece ``Blue Turtle Dream'', and later participated in the tour. She performed a splendid soprano. The members of the quartet that appeared at Village Vanguard this time are Kenny Kirkland on piano, Robert Leslie Hurst on bass, and Jeff Tain Watts on drums. Kenny Kirkland was a touring member of Sting and appeared on Wynton Marsalis' album, but he suddenly passed away in 1998 at the age of 43. Branford's saxophone and Kenny's piano play a central role in this Village Vanguard live performance. Now, the important live performance starts with the famous song "Mr. J.C." written by Kenny Kirkland. This is a masterpiece that represents hard bop and is perfect for the opening. You can also enjoy Branford at his peak, including his father Ellis Marsalis' song ``Swingin' at the Heaven'' and ``Royal Garden Blues'' from his debut album.
