He moved to New York in the early 1960s and started to stand out. He gained attention by participating in albums by Jackie McLean, Eric Dolphy, Andrew Hill, and others, and in 1965, he released his first album as a leader, "Dialogue," from Blue Note. Since then, he has produced many works as a new mainstream vibraphonist, and this 64-minute concert at the Berlin Philharmonic on November 1, 1986 was recorded in master quality and stereo soundboard. First, he plays a quartet with the Cedar Walton Trio, and his performance in his later years is full of mechanical keystrokes and lyrical, beautiful tones and phrases. In the 1970s, when new mainstream jazz went out of fashion, he released fusion-like works such as Latin, R&B, and funk, but from the 1980s onwards, he returned to straight-ahead jazz, and his stately performance once again attracted the attention of many jazz fans. This is a passionate performance recorded here with superb sound. 1. Cedar's Blues (13:03) 2. All Of You (11:30) 3. Little B's Poem (07:30) 4. My Foolish Heart (14:47) 5. Ground Work (10:48) 6. The Theme (07:18) [Live at Philharmonie, Berlin, Germany, November 1st 1986 : Stereo Soundboard Recording] Bobby Hutcherson – vibraphone / Cedar Walton - piano / David Williams - bass / Billy Higgins – drums
