Coincidentally, May 17th marks the 50th anniversary of Bob Dylan's ``I don't believe you, you're liar!'' utterance to a Manchester audience in 1966, and this week we've been busy with excitement. A Dylan title appears. Our store has recently released the first day of Osaka on March 6th, which is called the best performance in Japan in 2001, as "THE BEST SHOW", but this time we will release a new sound source from the same 2001 Japan tour. Masu. Previous titles such as "THE BEST SHOW" and "2001: A FORUM ODESSEY" released the year before last seemed to have been released mainly at live shows in the middle of the tour. However, this time it is the Omiya performance on February 25th, which was the first day of the tour. On this day, just like the Tokyo International Forum performance of "2001: A~", there were no items. Although the sound sources were widespread among traders a long time ago, it is no exaggeration to say that they were not touched upon and were rather overlooked. Moreover, the audience recording used for this release is a limited press using the sound source obtained independently by our store, which was not widespread among such traders. Just like "THE BEST SHOW" (*"FORUM ODESSEY" is an online sound source) which also uses independently obtained sound sources, the sound quality of the original sound source that recorded this Omiya show is absolutely the best. On the contrary, we guarantee the highest quality sound quality among the 2001 Japan performance items that we have released so far! Omiya Sonic City, a venue with a moderate capacity (2,000 people), offers a warm sense of presence and, above all, a lively sound image. This sound source captures all of them. There is no way not to release an audience recording that boasts the highest quality so far. Anyway, with just the outstanding sound quality, I confidently recommend this release to all Dylan enthusiasts. Regarding this Omiya performance, this day also had a big topic: it was the first day of the 2001 tour. What kind of sound will Dylan and the band produce on stage on the first day of their first performance in Japan since 1997? A big appeal of this sound source is the stunning clarity, so much so that you can almost hear the heartbeats of the fans. Since the live structure at that time had been completed in the previous year's tour, it was easy to predict that this day would also follow the pattern of the 2000 tour. As if to prove this, the opening song for the day was a cover of a traditional folk song called "Roving Gambler." The pattern of starting with a cover like this song was the regular opening at the time. After that, famous songs from yesteryear were played in quick succession, a development that can only be described as gorgeous in retrospect. At the recent performance in Japan, general listeners were expressing their impressions on social media, saying, ``They didn't play the old songs, but it was cool,'' even though they secretly expected to hear classic songs from yesteryear. At this time, Dylan would literally ``play old songs''. At the time, I thought it was obvious, but now that I look back on it, it's truly a gorgeous selection of songs. In particular, the set list that seemed like a bird's eye view of Dylan's career in the 1960s was a sight to behold. ``THE BEST SHOW'' has a song selection that will please enthusiasts, and ``FORUM ODESSEY'', which has many songs from the golden age from 1965 to 1966, is the menu for this day where only 60's classics will be played...It's no longer a best album. I guess it's the condition. Among them, the day when the masterpiece "Desolation Row" that concluded "HIGHWAY 61 REVISITED" was performed for the first time on a stage in Japan. It was a repertoire that had been played regularly since the previous year's tour, so there was a very high possibility that it would be heard on this day, but that's why it was so moving to finally be able to listen to it. More than that, this day was also the first time in Japan that I was able to hear rare numbers such as “Country Pie” and “If Dogs Run Free,” which had entered the live repertoire from the previous year's tour and surprised enthusiasts around the world. The song selection, which went beyond just 60's classics and major songs, was a big attraction of the day. In addition, “Country Pie” etc. were only performed a few times in the 2001 Japan performance, so it can be said that it is an even rarer scene. And the unique arrangement of "Drifter's Escape", which became a complete hard rock, has a great impact, but the best performance of the day is "Maggie's Farm". The excitement is so high that it's hard to believe that it's the first day of the tour and the first live show of 2001. This is a real live album with shocking audience master specifications that will make you realize that the play quality was already at an abnormal level from the first day of the tour. "THE BEST SHOW" with the best performance, "FORUM ODESSEY" with attractive song selection, and the third masterpiece boasting one of the highest sound quality of the 2001 tour is born here!
