Bob Dylan spent the entire month of April 2016 transforming the archipelago. The best recording of the US tour that followed is now available. Our store has been doing real-time reports on ``WOODINVILLE 2016 1ST NIGHT'', ``NASHVILLE 2016'', and ``KETTERING 2016'', but none of them have reached the point of regular release. However, we have finally released a quality product that we can continue to introduce to you for a long time, not just for a week. First, let's start with what I did after leaving Japan at the end of April. ・April 4th - 28th: Japan tour (16 performances) [FALLEN ANGELS released on May 20th] ・June 4th - July 17th: US tour (30 performances) [About 2 and a half months off] ←★Here we are★・October 7th & 14th: 2 performances in Indio As you can see, we have now completed our 30-concert US tour and are now on a break. It's the timing when enthusiasts around the world are organizing their sound sources and trying to summarize the US tour. Meanwhile, this work jumped out at me. It is an audience album of “July 13, 2016 Philadelphia Performance”. To be honest, the Japanese performance produced one crystal clear masterpiece recording after another, but the subsequent US tour was quite difficult. Although there were twice the number of performances in Japan, I have to say that only one "NASHVILLE 2016" came close to the standards of Japanese recording. However, the Nashville recording had only just caught up with Japanese "standards" and was not at the level of Japanese "master recordings". The quality of this work is a masterpiece that rivals “Japanese famous recordings” that are unparalleled in the world. The quality is clear enough to remind you of Japanese masterpieces. While breathing in the atmosphere of the venue, the atmosphere was crystal clear. Although the exquisite venue acoustics color Dylan's singing voice that reaches straight through, it never blurs the edges. Of course, the guitar and rhythm section stand out clearly, and it is simply a beautiful live album. Even though the quality is “just like a Japanese performance,” this work is not Japan. The biggest difference is the song selection. In Japan, the set list was completely fixed except for one performance, but it gradually changed as the US tour continued. The three notable songs are Frank Sinatra's covers ``Full Moon And Empty Arms'' and ``Stay With Me,'' and Paul Whiteman's cover ``How Deep Is The Ocean?'' “Full Moon And Empty Arms” is a song that was played on last year’s European tour, but this year there were only three performances. This is the second performance of this work. Even better than that is “How Deep Is The Ocean?”, which was the first song sung on this U.S. tour. You can experience the Dylan version that no one has ever heard before, let alone the Japanese performance, with the best sound. Furthermore, on this day, “Love Sick”, which had been the standard number at the end of the encore, was removed, and Sinatra’s cover “Stay With Me” was set in instead. Not only these three rare songs, but also the atmosphere surrounding this work as a whole is completely different from the Japanese performance. In Japan, the venue was filled with a sense of urgency, as if we were going to miss a single note, and the silence was so quiet that even the sound of a needle dropping could be heard. Between songs, the mood was filled with applause. However, the authentic American audience relaxed and thoroughly enjoyed Dylan's singing voice. This is clear from the first song, ``Things Have Changed,'' and not only does the performance begin, but even when Odai starts singing, people cheer as they please. Of course, since it's Dylan's audience, it's impossible for them to go wild without even listening to the performance, but they react sensitively to their favorite parts, phrases, and gestures. They even talk while playing. If it were a Japanese person, they would subconsciously read the atmosphere and think, ``Is it okay to say it out loud?'' but American audiences never hesitated for a moment. Rather than "reading the atmosphere," the audience is "creating the atmosphere." Of course, such an audience is also at a volume that does not shake the superb quality of this work in the slightest. However, there is such an atmosphere under the musical tone, and the relaxed mood makes Godai's singing voice lively. The tension of the Japanese performance is an irreplaceable beauty, but this is the real thing. This is the space that originally nurtured Dylan's music. It is a live album packed with plenty of persuasive power. Although it has a sound quality comparable to the masterpieces of the Japanese performance, it is a piece that shows off a completely different expression. It's a great recording that makes you feel a little jealous that you can enjoy it in this mood and mood. Rather than reviving the memories of the Japan performance, this is a live album that you want to immerse yourself in as if you were in America with Dylan. Live at The Mann Center, Philadelphia, PA.
