From folk prince to traitor. A special edition of the masterpiece video featuring the legendary "Newport Folk Festival" that appeared during the turbulent times will be released. This work features professional shots of Bob Dylan singing at the “Newport Folk Festival.” He appeared on the show for a total of four years: 1963, 1964, 1965, and 2002, but of course the three years in the 1960s are historically important. The scene at that time was filmed by Murray Lerner and has been passed down as a legend, with the documentary film ``FESTIVAL!'' nominated for an Oscar Award. Approximately 40 years later, in 2007, director Lerner produced a new film, ``THE OTHER SIDE OF THE MIRROR'', which re-edited only the scenes in which Dylan appeared. It became a hot topic as a masterpiece that vividly captured Dylan, who was a darling of the times but changed greatly year by year. This work is also a masterpiece of that movie, ``THE OTHER SIDE OF THE MIRROR.'' However, it is not a copy of the official DVD, but was featured on a certain satellite broadcasting station in 2009. Mr. Sano○ro, who is not only an actor/film director but also a musician, serves as the navigator, and this is the Japanese broadcast version, complete with Japanese subtitles. It's a movie originally produced in the 21st century, and the quality with zero deterioration due to digital broadcasting and recording is superlative. Since it is a satellite broadcast, there are no commercial cuts and you can enjoy plenty of classic movies. The content is truly impressive. Mr. Fumi Sano's explanation is bland, perhaps because he intends to ``let the images speak for themselves,'' but in fact, his persuasiveness is extremely powerful. Although the entire movie is in black and white, you can take a close look at the stages in which young Dylan appeared. Of course, the singing voice is wonderful, but the "change" is striking. The first “1963 edition” is truly a “folk prince”. Dylan, who was 22 years old at the time, still had an innocent look on his face, and even in his duet with Joan Baez, Baez, who was a senior performer at the Newport Folk Festival, seemed more dignified. This festival has a daytime part and a nighttime part, but the daytime part in particular has a stage that makes it feel like you're singing in the audience, and the words you say to the audience from there are brand-new. Although it is such Dylan, changes can be seen as early as the next “1964 edition”. At that time, it was just before the release of "ANOTHER SIDE OF BOB DYLAN" and they were trying to break away from protest songs. She duets with Joan Baez on "God's on Your Side" and also sings "Sad Babe" and "Liberty Bell." However, it has been popular since 1963, and after "The Liberty Bell," there are loud calls of "We want Bob!!" The host attempts to introduce the next performer, but the call is so loud that Bent is unable to proceed. Dylan reappears and calms the audience by saying, ``I'm sorry, everyone, but there's a turn. But thank you.'' In addition, the “1964 edition” includes interviews with Baez and scenes in which Johnny Cash sings Dylan songs, allowing us to see not only Dylan himself but also the scenes surrounding him. And then there was the legendary “1965 edition,” which was a major turning point for the extremely popular Dylan. It is known as the first concert with an electric guitar in hand, and it is a legendary stage that has been handed down for being booed by the audience who wanted traditional folk music. Lerner, who was filming at the scene, said, ``The audience rejected the electric,'' while fellow performer Al Kooper testified, ``The audience was angry because the sound was bad and the stage was short.'' ing. Although it is not possible to determine for sure what the actual reason was, there is no doubt that booing actually occurred, and this film also conveys an extraordinary atmosphere. It doesn't look like he ``sang it with tears in his eyes'' (though the person who announces when Dylan leaves is wiping his face frequently...). In any case, Dylan, who had participated in the "Newport Folk Festival" for three years in a row, suddenly stopped appearing here. It was 37 years later in 2002 that he appeared on the Newport stage again. 1963, when he attracted attention as a ``spokesman of the times,'' 1964, when he gained popularity not only for protest songs but also on stage, and 1965, when he was ridiculed and booed for being ``coopted into the establishment''... This is a masterpiece of a music movie that allows you to experience the turbulent changes in Dylan's music over the course of three years. Please enjoy the original Japanese Broadcasting version.
