Oh my God! It's an audience recording like a sound board. We will release the best Dylan live sound source that makes you want to scream at the same time as the first performance in Japan. That was the performance in The Hague, Netherlands on June 10, 1989. The sound image is so on-the-top that it's hard to believe. Not only the powerful performance unique to the peak band led by GE Smith, but also Dylan's singing voice is so close that it's vivid. When GE Smith was enrolled, which is already highly popular among enthusiasts, we have released several superb live sound sources from 1989, but this time we will release a wonderful audience recording that captures a day of the European tour in early summer. However, this is not the first appearance of the live performance that will be released this time. In the mid-1990s, the title "HUNTED (LIKE A CROCODILE)" appeared, and it was a day that was highly praised for its sound quality and wonderful performance. It was also praised by overseas fan sites, such as "Dylan's voice is very close." Naturally, items were produced because of such excellent sound sources, but that was twenty years ago now. Even if you barely know the existence of "HUNTED (LIKE A CROCODILE)", there are probably few enthusiasts who have actually heard it. The fact that this decisive item had such a strong presence that no reissues or copies appeared may have spurred this situation. In other words, just like the first day of the first visit to Japan in Osaka, because excellent items were created in the 1990s, no new items have appeared since then, and we have reached the present. Therefore, this release will be the first item since "HUNTED?", but since it is based on the original master, an upper version that exceeds it will be released. It was certainly a masterpiece "HUNTED?", but it has deteriorated because it has been copied to cassette at least once, which is the fate of items released in the 1990s, and it looks inferior compared to the freshness unique to the recording from the master this time. Since it was originally an audience recording captured with a very on sound image, the difference is even easier to understand. While the hiss noise increased due to analog dubbing, "HUNTED?" has a tendency to decrease both the low and high frequencies. In that respect, this time, the outstanding freshness and clarity are so amazing that it is hard to believe that it was recorded with analog equipment nearly 30 years ago, and that alone will overwhelm the listener. And the balance of Dylan's singing voice, which is so close to the sound board, is so close that you will lose words. Again, this release is based on a version that was digitized directly from the master cassette, which has been circulating on the Internet but has become difficult to obtain in recent years, so it is in excellent condition and is a perfect version that does not even require equalization or pitch adjustment. The only thing that was tweaked was to adjust the unevenness in volume that occurred at the start of the encore performance of "To Ramona". I think the word "excellent" applies to this kind of sound source. And the performance, which has been well-known among enthusiasts for a long time, is beyond complaint. The simple and powerful performance unique to the band when GE Smith was enrolled was carried over from the previous year, but the charm of this period is that Dylan used acoustic guitar a lot, which created a nice contrast even with the band performance, and the best example of this is "Knockin' On Heaven's Door". Dylan starts singing alone with an acoustic guitar, and then the band joins in with Christopher Parker's drums as a signal, which is an extremely effective arrangement. In addition, since the show on this day was long enough to fit on one disc, the performance that seemed to run through all at once was also wonderful. The highlight was "Trail Of The Buffalo", which was performed for the first time in an electric version accompanied by a band. This traditional cover was known for the acoustic version by Dylan and GE on the tour of the previous year, but on this day, which was the first time it was performed on the stage in 1989, it was suddenly performed in an electric arrangement that had never been performed before. The very Spartan and powerful Western-chic performance was a masterpiece that was highly praised by enthusiasts from the release of "HUNTED (LIKE A CROCODILE)", but the impact of this wild performance has not faded even now. By the way, from around the two-minute mark of "I Don't Believe You" to the interlude of "I Shall Be Released", a periodic "zizzing" noise occasionally comes in, but this is a trouble sound emitted from the PA via the microphone that was recording the drums, and it is not a problem with the tape. In fact, during this tour, a similar noise phenomenon occurred many times during the performance. Fortunately, the noise only occurred at the ending during the performance of "Trail Of The Buffalo". There was another sound source on this day, but the same noise was also included. If you are a core enthusiast, this release is not to be missed just because it is the upper version of the same sound source as the old masterpiece "HUNTED (LIKE A CROCODILE)". For those who have never heard the original sound source before, we can assure you that it is an item that will satisfy you overall with both the overwhelming sound quality and the richness of the performance. In the past, we have produced a fulfilling 1989 title such as "MERCY FOR POUGHKEEPSIE" in the fall and "HOT AUGUST NIGHT 1989" in the midsummer, but this time, Dylan and the band's spectacular live performance is different from those, and is sealed with perfect sound quality. Moreover, it is easy to listen to because it is a single disc! Live at Statenhal, The Hague, The Netherlands 10th June 1989 TRULY PERFECT SOUND (77:51) 1. Announce & Intro 2.
