Bob Dylan/Japanese Satellite TV 2005

The satellite broadcast version of "No Direction Home," known as a masterpiece of Dylan's documentary footage, with original lyrics and Japanese subtitles, is here in master quality. This is a 3.5 hour overwhelming volume video work that follows Dylan's journey up to 1966, including his departure from the rural town of Hibbing, Minnesota, to the big city of New York, and then his transition to rock in 1966, the storm of booing at that time, and the live footage with The Band, which was shown here for the first time. This work has also been officially released on Blu-ray, and is attracting attention again, but this title includes the complete uncut version that was aired on domestic satellite broadcasts in 2005, when this work was completed, prior to the nationwide roadshow. The main point of this work is that all the live performances and Dylan's songs that are inserted are accompanied by Japanese subtitles, and due to complicated rights issues, the lyrics translation was only allowed to be added at the time of the 2005 screening and this on-air. Therefore, by adding subtitles with lyrics to the precious footage shown between interviews with Dylan himself and those involved, viewers can get a better feel for the content and understand the trends of the times.
