"DON'T LOOK BACK" is a masterpiece film that captures Bob Dylan's final folk era. It is a historical masterpiece, so it has been released many times, but the Japanese version is currently out of print, which is a serious situation. A deluxe edition with plenty of bonus footage was released 10 years ago, and it has been made into a Blu-ray overseas, but it has not been released in Japan. Of course, it is not that difficult to find a DVD from 10 years ago on the used market, but it is true that it is not easily accessible. So, what we are leasing is a surprisingly rare Japanese broadcast version of this film. This was broadcast in Japan in the summer of 1991, and it is speculated to be based on the laser disc of the same film released at that time. However, it is interesting that instead of simply broadcasting it, the subtitles were uniquely re-added when it was broadcast. "DON'T LOOK BACK" is a masterpiece documentary with a series of impressive scenes. For example, when Dylan arrives in London, he is asked about the toy light bulb he was carrying around as a pose for the media, and when he uses the light bulb, he calmly replies, "The whole house exploded." The translation of the line, "I don't need any awards, give them to Donovan," is also excellent. Since the movie itself is a series of very impressive scenes, when a British fangirl bluntly says about the electric band's song, "Subterranean Homesick Blues doesn't sound like you...," Dylan's unexpectedly gentle response of "It's okay to mess around sometimes, isn't it?" is impressive. Then he fights with his entourage at the hotel (and then they make up), and then he slams the interviewer for only asking questions out of curiosity. This is a wonderful translation that complements the best footage that captures Dylan's sharpness just before he turned to rock. And it's also worth noting that the release was provided on a VHS in extremely good condition, so you can enjoy the quality of the film, which is not inferior to today's standards. Having watched this broadcast in 1991, I never expected to be able to reunite with it in such a clear state now. Of course, the tape I recorded myself has gotten moldy over the years (a common occurrence with home video tapes), which made it even more of a pleasant surprise. In addition to the good picture quality, you can enjoy the amazingly handsome looks of 1965 Dylan throughout the film, which will bring you a lot of nostalgia. ★Please enjoy this precious recording version that was broadcast on "Late Night Movie Theater" in the summer of 1991 in the best quality!
