Following last week's 1986 studio sound source "HEARTS OF FIRE SESSION 1986" with Clapton, which has been very popular for its unprecedented low generation state, this time we will present two types of Dylan's finest live sound sources from the 80s. We will release it. Both can be called the standard of standards as a live sound source of Dylan in this generation, but the first one we will deliver is the Toronto performance on April 20, 1980. Among maniacs, it is a time when it is called a part of the gospel tour. Dylan's change to gospel music, which began the previous year, was controversial, but he has now received overwhelming support from enthusiasts around the world. As proof of that, the 1979 gospel tour sound sources recorded by Mike Millard, which we have released in the past, are all very popular. The secret to its popularity was that Millard was able to reproduce the live sound that Dylan put his heart and soul into every night on stage, with the highest sound quality. Undeterred by this trend of pros and cons, in 1980 Dylan further promoted the gospel route. We quickly completed the recording of the album ``SAVED,'' which has a more advanced gospel sound than ``SLOW TRAIN COMING,'' but I felt that the recording studio did not capture the gospel sound or the enthusiasm on stage. Is it? Or maybe you just wanted to record the exciting sounds of your current stage as soon as possible? We not only recorded the Toronto show held on April 19th and 20th, but also videotaped it. From this recording, a live album called "SOLID ROCK" was produced based on the performance on the 19th, but perhaps it was due to the unpopularity of the gospel route at the time, or because the record company had already completed "SOLID ROCK". Perhaps he wanted to give priority to the release of ``SAVED'', but the release of the live album was canceled (Dylan often shelves live albums...). Regarding the footage that had been shot beyond that, there was no plan to broadcast it on TV, and it ended up being a live video that remained dormant like ZEP's Royal Albert Hall. Of the two-day footage, the one from April 20th seems to have been circulating among core collectors for some time, but it suddenly leaked out in the 1990s. It created a huge response among enthusiasts around the world as a valuable live video that captured Dylan during his gospel period. Not only was the image quality of the video good, but the sound quality of the soundboard recording contained therein was also extremely good, so a number of CD items containing audio were released. Songs such as "BORN AGAIN MUSIC" were once treated as masterpieces on Dylan fan sites because they were completely recorded from the opening gospel song, but they were actually based on footage that was downgraded and copied to monaural. Tao shoddyness. On that point, "SOLID ROCK" released by WANTED MAN was highly praised in specialized magazines because it was recorded in high quality stereo sound throughout, but in reality, there were no unnecessary parts between songs. Contrary to the outstanding sound quality, there were too many cuts, and even "Covenant Woman" was mixed in from the 19th sound source, but it was an item where deficiencies in content were clearly noticeable. It's hard to believe that the famous stereo soundboard recording that represents Gospel Dylan has been treated so poorly...We have wiped away such problems and made the live show from the opening gospel song to April 20th perfect. This release was recorded using a stereo soundboard recording! Of course, the lack of the intro of “Precious Angel”, which was a problem from the original video, and the condition of “In The Garden”, which cuts off when Dylan leaves the stage, remain the same this time. Since around last year, a wonderfully edited Toronto video has been circulating on YouTube in which the missing parts of the former are supplemented with the previous day's sound source and the video is also montaged, but it is still a "pseudo-complete version" after all. is. The amazing sound quality that more than makes up for these shortcomings, and the splendor of Dylan and the band, who allow you to listen to flawless singing and playing throughout the entire album! After all, the sound source used for the video is a multi-track recording, so even if it was officially released as it is, the sound is ultra-clear. Because the sound quality is perfect, many of Dylan's famous songs stand out...I really fall in love with it. Recently, he has released a series of Sinatra cover albums, and his singing orientation has become a hot topic, but in fact, even on the gospel tour, Dylan has already shown off a stage where you can listen to songs. Among them, the splendor of the songs you hear around "When He Returns" and "What Can I Do For You?" is unique to this period. And the background sound is soft and calm, making you think that it was inspired by AOR, which was at its peak at the time. Even in Dylan's gospel period, it boasted the most complete and pure sound. The momentum that could be heard at the Millard recording live in 1979 has calmed down, and instead evolved into a sound full of confidence, and the best performance was released from the stage every night at this Toronto performance. The best version of the ultimate real live album of the gospel tour will finally be released. If you want to hear Dylan live during the Gospel era, start from now!
