A high-quality audience recording of the Akita performance on February 22nd, when the Japan tour that started in 1997 was nearing the end. It is a complete recording of the live performance where “Down In The Flood”, which had been played at the opening since the start of the tour, suddenly opened with “Absolutely Sweet Marie”, which became a big topic at the time. Moreover, since it is Dylan's first Akita performance and venue, the early stage is a deep sound image that seems to reflect the sound coming from the PA. It is also a recording state where the bass range, which is common in DAT audience recordings from the late 90s, is noticeable, but there is no doubt that this is also a sufficiently high-quality recording. In addition, as the live performance progressed, the sound image and balance improved rapidly, and by the end of the first half, the quality had risen to the point where it could be said that it was a superb recording. What surprises me even more than the recording condition is that Dylan is in great condition on this day as well. In front of Upper Voltage, who continues to listen to powerful songs, it is hard to believe that this is the final stage of the tour. The Tokyo performance was also a wonderful performance, but this first Akita performance is not inferior at all. Under such circumstances, the performance of "When I Paint My Masterpiece", which was the first live performance in Japan, is worthy of being called a masterpiece. At that time, there was a feeling that only the intense excitement in Tokyo was close-up, but please check the title of this time to see that the 1997 performance in Japan was a wonderful performance throughout the tour.
