(Currently) A luxurious 5-disc set packed with plenty of Ritchie Blackmore's last live in Japan is now available. "Richie's last visit to Japan", that is BLACKMORE'S NIGHT's second Japan tour in 2004. This work is an audience recording of two performances in Tokyo "October 22nd and 23rd, 2004: Shibuya Public Hall Performance". First, let's check the dates of the 2004 Japan tour. ・October 18: Osaka Sankei Hall ・October 19: Hiroshima Club Quattro ・October 20: Aichi Labor Hall ・October 22: Shibuya Public Hall [Book] ・October 23: Shibuya Public Hall [Book] ] In this way, Richie's last Japan tour was a total of 5 performances, and the Tokyo performances were the last two. In other words, this work is a live set that includes the full recording of Ritchie’s last two performances in Japan. Discs 1 and 2 contain the full audience of "October 22nd", discs 3 and 4 contain the full audience of "October 23rd", and you can also watch valuable TV footage of "October 22nd" on DVDR. It is contained. This work has great memorial value, but the quality is also excellent. On both days, the DAT master given directly by the recording artist was used directly, and this recording was once released as "QUEEN FOR A DAY" and "THE LAST NIGHT IN TOKYO" and received rave reviews. In particular, the clarity and direct feel of Discs 1 and 2 containing “October 22nd” are of the highest quality. It is something that can be called “just like a sound board”, and the sound is so close that you can clearly hear the sound of Richie’s fingertips rubbing the guitar strings. It doesn't "sound like". I can hear it clearly in my ears. Of course, the guitar is not the only thing that stands out; the band and ensemble are also beautifully balanced. It's absolutely the best sound. ``Then press...'' But unfortunately, there is a slight drawback. In some places, digital noise caused by the master is introduced. Most of them are things that you don't notice even if they are said, but for the three songs in the middle of the show, "Ghost Of A Rose", "I Still Remember", and "Avalon", that is not the case. If you release it silently, it might be thought that the player is at fault. Of course, even the worst parts aren't unbearable to listen to, but because the basic recording is of such high quality, your brain ends up thinking, ``There's no way noise can get in even though it's this high quality.'' It's completely, completely regrettable.... The last day of the album, “October 23rd”, also has an amazing sound. The clarity is comparable to Discs 1 and 2, and above all, there is no noise or deterioration. Although there is a sense of distance compared to Discs 1 and 2, which were very close, the reverberation creates an even more fantastical mood, which suits the music world of BLACKMORE'S NIGHT well. To be a bit pretentious, "October 22nd" is a dazzling sunlight that clearly depicts the outline of shadows, and "October 23rd" is a sound that evokes the image of a deep British forest. The last two days in Japan with such quality were a utopia in the BLACKMORE'S NIGHT world. In the seven years since their first visit to Japan, they have become much more like a band, and their simply beautiful music has grown dynamically. In particular, Candice Knight, who was so delicate and lovely, was almost a completely different person. Sometimes she sings majestically, sometimes whispers bewitchingly, and sometimes envelops herself in a rich motherly way. However, it still retains its cute charm and gives off a more coquettish tone. Even in "Soldier Of Fortune" (although completely different from David Coverdale), he has acquired the singing ability to use different facial expressions for each line and word. Furthermore, their stage courage is incomparable. The MC, who enlivens the scene, uses Japanese and is so familiar with the venue that he draws laughs from the audience. What was even more surprising was the earthquake that occurred on the last day. From the audience, voices such as "Oh," "earthquake," and "terrible shaking" could be heard, and Richie also stopped playing. As a foreigner who is not used to earthquakes, he seems a little dismayed (Richie was looking worriedly at the swaying lights on the ceiling), but the audience's Japanese-English "Don't Worry About It!" He responds with a smile and shows that he has the leeway to connect the mood with the MC until the members calm down. In addition to playing and singing, their skill in running the show is like a world away. The repertoire is now richer than when they first came to Japan, when they only had their debut songs, and they have the luxury of being able to put together a set with a selection of famous songs. DEEP PURPLE and RAINBOW's songs are now played more naturally and more like BLACKMORE'S NIGHT, and on "October 22nd", "Child In Time" was inserted into "Mond Tanz", and "Black Night", " There's even room to listen to the medley of "Woman From Tokyo." The next day, October 23rd, was filled with delicious encore songs, probably because it was the last day. Following “Blues” which is reminiscent of the RAINBOW era, it is a large-scale performance of “The Temple Of The King”, “Purple Haze”, “Since You Been Gone” and “Sixteenth Century Greensleeves”. It's been a long time, but this work isn't over yet. The last bonus disc is DVDR. Although it is a one-shot video that is only about 6 minutes long, it is a professional shot video. The TV broadcast of "October 22nd" begins with Richie playing a synth guitar solo in the dark on an electric-acoustic guitar (custom-made Telecaster type) equipped with a Roland guitar synth. . When entering “Cartouche”, Ritchie switches to a loud (Spanish instrument) while violinist Tudor Rose plays a solo, and in the middle part, Candice also performs a shawm solo. It's not just an acoustic song, but a 6-minute song that encapsulates the charm of BLACKMORE'S NIGHT, which makes full use of the tones of various instruments. Since DEEP PURPLE's first visit to Japan in 1972, Ritchie Blackmore has visited Japan on 13 tours. This is a live set that captures the last two nights with the highest quality. Twelve years have passed since this concert was the last time I was able to meet Richie. Nowadays, with the promise of RAINBOW's revival, there is a constant desire for RAINBOW to come to Japan, but will their miraculous visit to Japan come true? Or will this really be the last time? The phrases that flow from this work are so smooth that you can't stop thinking, "One more time!" One such sinful book will be delivered to your door this weekend.
