SABBATH began their UK tour in conjunction with the release of ``HEADLESS CROSS'' at the end of August 1989, and their two consecutive performances at London's ``Hammersmith Odeon'' on September 9th and 10th, which were the biggest highlight, were also successful. The final day of the tour will end on the 11th at Colston Hall in Bristol. Reflecting the band's fulfilling state, there were many surprise elements in this "HEADLESS CROSS" UK tour, and on the previous day, the 10th (second day in Hammersmith), QUEEN's Brian May appeared for an encore. Masu. And the surprise of this final day/Bristol performance is the appearance of the aforementioned Ian Gillan. In this recording, from the opening “Headless Cross” to “Chidren Of The Grave”, the excitement of the venue and the band’s performance are firmly packaged. Although the sound image feels like there is a slight distance between the stage and the taper, the clean sound image and high stability backed by good freshness are wonderful, and you can listen to the live performance without stress. The live performance began with the majestic "Headless Cross", followed by the speedy "Neon Knights", followed by the melodious "Children Of The Sea", and was reminiscent of the 1980s when Ronnie joined the band. This is a structure that is suitable for tours. However, the ``HEADLESS CROSS'' lineup consisting of Iommi, Martin, and Cozy made songs such as ``Die Young'' and ``The Shining'' more epic, and songs from the Ozzy era such as ``War Pigs'' and ``Iron Man'' more dramatic. , adds further depth to the heavy and melodic sound typical of SABBATH from the '80s. In addition to the outstanding performances by Iommi and Martin, the rhythm section of Cozy and Neil demonstrates an exquisite combination, and listeners will be able to enjoy an exciting performance on every song. Iommi's speedy solo that can be heard at the end of the encore "Heaven And Hell" is very thrilling. After playing this “Heaven And Hell”, when Ian Gillan appears with the riff of “Smoke On The Water” that echoes without a pause, the audience shows the most excitement of the day. Iommi has been playing in harmony with Guillain, and here you can once again realize the good chemistry between the two. Cozy also adds a new interpretation to this super famous song with his powerful play (his play will be interesting to compare with the take on "FORCEFIELD"). The combination of Gilan and Koji is a matchup that has never been seen before, but they seem to have good chemistry. “Paranoid” concludes with a duet with Gillan, with Martin joining in. Gillan's singing style, which is rooted in rock'n'roll, shows its true value in this song, and from the opening shout, he shows a presence that surpasses Martin's. The only sound sources in which Ian Gillan participated in SABBATH's live performances are these two performances in 1989, excluding the "BORN AGAIN" tour. (Another collaboration sound source can be heard on the press edition "RUNIC ECHOES" which includes the Copenhagen performance on September 15, 1989.) We would like to encourage our fans to take this opportunity to enjoy one of the most special live shows in SABBATH's history. I would like to have it!
