The "TECHNICAL ECSTASY Tour," popular among enthusiasts for its intriguing keyboard arrangements, is back with this classic live album. This release captures the February 9, 1977 Nashville performance, a powerful audience recording. While the classic "IN NASHVILLE 1978" was also released, that was during the "NEVER SAY DIE" era. This release is a live album from the same venue, but from the "TECHNICAL ECSTASY" era. The "TECHNICAL ECSTASY Tour" featured keyboardist Gerald Woodruff, creating a colorful sound that made it a unique tour even in the 1970s. We have archived as many classics as possible. This release is a unique and important addition to that collection. To explain the circumstances surrounding this release, let's take a look at our collection. 1976 "North America # 1" November 9th "COMPLETE FRESNO 1976" December 8th "PITTSBURGH 1976/1978 (SBD)" December 10th "IN NIAGARA FALLS 1976/1978" 1977 "North America # 2" February 9th: Nashville performance ←★This work★ 1977 "Europe" March 13th "HAMMERSMITH STORY 1977-1978" April 5th "DEVIL IN DRAG (Paris)" April 7th "IN OFFENBACH 1977/1978" April 16th "TECHNICAL ZOMBIE (Brussels)" April 22nd "KILLING YOURSELF TO DIE" These are the nine masterpieces that allow you to experience the unexplored recording ground of "North America # 2". The tour's early "North America #1" leg produced two major milestones: the soundboard masterpiece "PITTSBURGH 1976/1978 THE ULTIMATE EDITION (Zodiac 331)" and the full live album "COMPLETE FRESNO 1976 (Zodiac 734)." The final "European" leg also produced a wealth of diverse mid-level works. This Nashville performance is neither of these, but a mid-way "North America #2." It's a masterpiece that reports on a secret leg that was a remote recording location. Indeed, the sound is powerful and masterpiece-class. Above all, the solid, meaty core is superb, and the direct feeling that looms before your eyes is also powerful. While it doesn't quite reach the otherworldly quality of the champion "COMPLETE FRESNO 1976," it's a clear sound that's well worth aiming for as the third-place finisher on the tour. This same-venue collection lets you experience the presence or absence of keyboards. This work is also a key piece in the "same-venue collection." In fact, for Sabbath collectors, the "TECHNICAL ECSTASY Tour" and "NEVER SAY DIE Tour" are sister tours, with the two tours' masterpieces recorded at the same venue. In addition to the soundboard "PITTSBURGH 1976/1978," Fresno, Niagara Falls, Hammersmith Odeon, and Offenbach... Apparently, many tapers recorded two tours consecutively in various locations, resulting in masterpieces from the same venue. Nashville is also part of this same-venue series, and this work and "IN NASHVILLE 1978" are sibling works from the same venue. While the sets of these two tours are similar, the presence or absence of keyboards is a major difference. Gerald Woodruff also participated in the "SABOTAGE Tour," but it was only on the "TECHNICAL ECSTASY Tour" that he reached the level of a "fifth member." He returned to no keyboards again on the "NEVER SAY DIE Tour," allowing for fixed-point observation of the arrangements and effects with a similar set and collection of the same venues. This is an essential live album for exploring the uncharted territory of "North America #2," and it's also a great way to compare the tour alongside "IN NASHVILLE 1978." This is a key piece in the "TECHNICAL ECSTASY Tour" collection. It's a powerful audience recording of the "February 9, 1977 Nashville performance." Above all, it has a solid, meaty core, and a powerful, direct feel that really gets in front of you. This is a full live album that reports on the previously unrecorded "1977 North American leg (second lap)."
